Accepted!!

Got my acceptance letter for the LPN/EMT to RN bridge program from Hutchinson CC in KS!! Very excited to be going back. I also got my CNA and LPN through this school and have been very happy with it. Now to figure out how to juggle FT work and FT school for the next year. Kinda intimidated! But it'll be so worth it. :)

I recently found out about this college. I see some people have had issues registering. Anyone from Los Angeles area able to get approved for this program? If so can you tell me about your experience getting in or applying?

I hope someone is able to answer your question. Do you mean registering for the school or applying for an RN license?

Registering for the school. I see some people are having difficulty registering for this school. I was wondering the chances of actually getting approved and starting

Okay, so you’re not meaning registering; rather, you’re meaning being accepted into the program—-or so that’s what I think you mean.  It is difficult to gain acceptance as there are anywhere from 150 to 200-ish applications in a cycle with only 40 slots.  Your prerequisite grades have to be very good and your Kaplan test scores must be high, as well.  On their website they have the application and it shows the breakdown of the point system.  It may take a little searching, but it’s there.  I’ve not personally known anyone to get in with C’s; you can’t even have too many B grades to make the cut.  Becky is very helpful with answering questions.  After some searching you might drop her an email with your questions.  Her name should be on the application/website…Becky M.  I got accepted last year and everyone is really friendly.  Again, it is competitive so make sure your prerequisites are top notch grades.

Hi,

I'm not an RN in LA, but there were 2 people in my class last year (2020) that were from Ca. One was from LA and the other from the Sacramento area. Both of them didn't have any issues applying or getting into the program. What they had to do was sit for their Kansas boards first then get the Ca endorsement.

Thank you for that information. It’s s helpful. I was concerned I would have difficulty since I live in L.A. area and looking to travel to get my RN. It is so hard to get into any community college in California. I've applied to many and all do a lottery and you could be waiting several years before you get picked.
