Not looking for any sugar coating, just your personal experiences from the wait list. I just got my letter today and I'm standby #18 in a class of 40 people.
Thanks in advance
Natalie
The answer to your question is impossible to answer. It all depends on the pool of applicants for your school and can vary annually. One year everyone on the waitlist may get in while the following less than half may do. All depends on applicants and timing of other offers they get from other schools and other variables we have no control over. You will never know what will happen.
Never, ever give up hope!! You can't ever guess which way something like this will happen because there are too many variables. One of my best friends from school was #1 alternate last semester and didn't get in, but she was accepted this semester (with me). Hang in there ! Think happy thoughts!!
The good thing about your vaccines and titers is they'll be good for any place you end up, and having something to accomplish that is another step closer will help ease the pain of waiting, at least a teeny tiny bit. Here in Chicago, there are many programs and it's not unheard of for people to apply to 4 or 5 programs. They can only attend one, so those spots end up opening up in the summertime. I hope for the best for you. But remember, it WILL happen for you at some point.

It just all depends on how many students choose to accept the offer into nursing school. A lot of people apply to numerous schools. So its possible that your school/ program might not be some people's #1 choice. They are just using it as a back up. I know the wait is killing you but stay positive. If it is your time, nobody can take it away from you.
