  1. Have you tried Hurst?! Hurst videos were very helpful with content but I felt like their questions reviews helped me the most with NCLEX. Stay focused, Reassess and have faith!! You will pass!
  2. I would have to say Organic Chemistry. My class started with about 25 and ended with 8. The content was just very difficult and the teacher did not care to help us understand the material. I remember on valentines day. He drew a heart on the board & then drew a knife through it and proceeded to draw blood oozing from the heart. Talk about weird?! Lol Pharmacology would have to be the next. It was a lot of memorization. But to take it with Med Surg 1 was difficult. I gave med surg 1priority. But I still passed!
  3. I have heard this quote "C= RN" at my school. I think this train of thought is from the differences in the grading scales for our general courses vs our nursing courses. Our general courses are on a 10 point scale. Therefore a 90 or 89.9= an A. In nursing a 93= A. Also in our general courses we could do the minimum and excel. Our teachers would curve tests, drop grades, & give extra credit. In nursing this is definitely NOT the case. I believe that just because C does allow you to sit for NCLEX doesn't mean we should only strive for the minimum.
  4. Our grading policy is similar to most. They do not round for the decimal grades. If you have a 79.99 then your grade is a 79.99 but at the end of the semester for our final grades they will round. So if your final grade was a 86.76= 87=B. I think it's good that they at least round the final grades because I think it's ridiculous to fail over .01 of a point.
  5. School starts for me on August 20th. Our orientation is the same day as the first day of school. Our instructors have already sent us reading lists to help us get ready for the semester. They also sent us dosage calculation practice quizzes. All the information seems overwhelming but I try to read and do some math every day. It is starting to settle in that NS will start before I know it. I am excited & nervous though.
  6. Thanks so much!! I don't have a kindle but I downloaded it to my PC.
  7. Love Nurse Mates *Dove*
  8. Hello, I am curious to know where/how everyone study's for nursing school. I am going into my second semester and would like to change up my study habits. I usually study @ home alone. I am a single mother of a 6 year old boy, so sometimes that task is difficult. My parents help me out when I need it. Any ideas would help. Thanks in advance
  9. I bought something similar to this. I'm hoping it will do better than the Jeep rolling book bag I had last semester.I could only bring 2 books plus notebooks in it. Some days I have 3 classes and would need to carry all 3 books and notebooks.
  10. I am not completely sure yet. I just know ever since I was little I have always wanted to be a nurse. I enjoy all aspects of nursing. I do like OB a little more than other areas though. I would like to become a NP. Eventually I would like to come back an teach nursing. I want to help others reach their goals, the way my professors help us. Also the reason that nursing school is so competitive is become the schools do not have the staffing to accommodate all who apply.:redbeathe
  11. It just all depends on how many students choose to accept the offer into nursing school. A lot of people apply to numerous schools. So its possible that your school/ program might not be some people's #1 choice. They are just using it as a back up. I know the wait is killing you but stay positive. If it is your time, nobody can take it away from you.
