accepted Emory students fall 2009

Published

I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.

I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.

I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.

Thanks to all who will join the group and to all who will advise us.

Really appreciated.

I don't know if any of you are looking for places to live, but I have found a great apt. that is on briarcliff/clifton road. It isn't on the list of one recommended by other students, but Natalie the manager has hooked me up (waived pet deposit, waived pro-rating end of august, and no security deposit for Emory students). I know she is leasing right now. Just let me know if you want info and I will recommend you.

Thanks for the info Erin!! I need to order the dosage calculation book myself. I'll probably do that tomorrow. I'm so excited....this time is moving so fast. When I got my acceptance letter back in Dec., August seemed so far away, but now I'm getting a little nervous!

Well, I was looking for someone who wanted a room mate and eventually found one about 2 weeks ago at the Post briarcliff apartments. It is a lovely place and l will be moving straight at the end of the semester (31st July) to the apartment on the 1st of august. Use 2weeks to do all the tests and other stuff I have to do and get to know the place even more. I like it because its less than 10mins walking distance to clifton and there is a bus ride too so I wouldn't be using my car in order to avoid the $654 parking fee.

Which smartphone or PDA are any you guys going to be using? I just got a blackberry last week but a different one from the 8300 series so I will be going up there to change it to the Blackberry Curve. Anyone actually going to be using a PDA? I- touch, Iphone etc?

I have an itouch. Therefore, in an effort to save dollars I will try using it. I hope it works out ok. I will upgrade to an iphone/blackberry/palm only if I have to.

I have an iphone that I'll be using.

I'm actually gonna be living at gables Lenox hills and using my iPhone as my PDA. Does anybody know if we can order our uniforms online (with the patch, of course)? I really don't plan on traveling to Atlanta anytime again before august.

They can send the uniform to you for $9.99.

I'm going to get an Itouch. It looks like the date on that A&P test is July 13, 2008 and its not on the checklist so maybe we don't have to take it afterall!

Hey Everyone,

Does anyone know if we have to have all 3 hep B dosages or can we just get a titer. And if we do need 3 I won't have enough time to get all 3 before school starts.

I won't either. I have had one, I am ready for #2. No time for #3. I am going to call and ask tomorrow. I will let you know.

Thanks Erin,

I'm gonna get the 1st tomorrow and the 2nd in July. I'm sure that this is an issue for a lot of us.
