I have just been accepted to the Emory BSN nursing program for fall 2009 and I just wanted to know if other accepted students would like us to communicate and help each other prepare for the fall. We can discuss anything from immunization, PDA, housing to financial aid.
I would also like current student and alumni to mentor us in order to make our preparation smoother. Any advice is welcome since you've been there before from what type of stethoscope to which brand of PDA to buy.
I am a very meticulous person and would like every thing to go perfectly that is why I need all the advice that I can get so that come August, we would all be ready and prepared for the challenging two years ahead of us.
Thanks to all who will join the group and to all who will advise us.
Really appreciated.
Hey Everyone!
Fall will be here before we know it! I've heard that we need to get a PDA for school...does anyone have any idea if we need to get a specific one, or does it just need to be able to support certain software? Any suggestions for which is the best kind? Also, has anyone heard anymore about our schedules? I look forward to meeting all of you in the Fall!
Hey All!
I found all of the info we need on Blackboard. You can find the blackboard link in your Opus Acct. I found the info on our uniforms, immunizations, and everything else. Also, I was told that the letters concerning pre enrollment were sent out yesterday. Hope this helps everyone!
Oh....also, there is a link on blackboard that says Nursing 101 New BSN Students
So I looked at the info that you told us about, Light, and OMG I'm so scared, yet so excited! lol I'm gonna read through everything again because the first read-through was quite overwhelming....On another note, did you notice that there's no anatomy pretest like with previous classes here on allnurses? Yay for that! Well, back to planning my summer vacation. I'll talk to you all soon!
La Brittany, there is an anatomy test. Look for assigments, it in 4 parts and 98 questions but you don't have to do it at a go, you can save it and continue later.
I also checked all the stuff we have to buy, I estimated that we will probably need $1600-2000 to get supplies, books, etc. Wow!
I plan to ask tomorrow if I can use my birthday present ( a littman Master cardiology stethescope) I am so worried because that is about $200 and if I can't use it, it would mean I have to get a new one for almost another $100 and I am trying to save money as it is.
All in all I am excited too. Did you all see that they have billed us already on Opus, and made some deductions from the deposit?
Enjoy your vacation. I am still in the full summer session for my Microbiology and Human Growth. It ends on the 31st of July so I get at least 3 weeks to relax before it all begins in earnest.
Good luck y'all

Hello All,
I just went on Opus and found my classes scheduled. Has anyone spoken to the admissions office about their schedule? I was just wondering if we had to stick with the classes and times ot if we have the option to change the times and or days. Also I wanted to compare the different times others have been given. Hope all is well with everyone.
