Hello!
Does anyone know when acceptance letters will be mailed out for the MGH d-e master's in nursing program? I know it's only been 3 weeks since the January 10th deadline, but I'm sure I'm not the only one biting my nails in the interim. :) I've looked through a few similar threads from a few years ago-- most students seemed to receive letters in early March, but who knows whether their program deadlines were the same. Thought I'd ask the question to get some discussion going. Hope all of us hear back soon! Good luck, everyone!
Hey everyone! I am waitlisted at MGH (applied to the pediatric track) and was wondering when the deposit is for you guys who have been accepted? I am trying to get a better idea of when I could possibly hear about getting off the waitlist. Thanks!
Hi Nurse2011k,
It's on April 18. All the best.
Hi, I have been accepted and had a question regarding prerequisites. Can anyone confirm whether labs are required for the prerequisite classes? I believe they said we did not need the labs but wanted to make sure that is the same information other people have been told before signing up for summer classes! Thanks so much and can't wait for the fall.
Golfer27- I do not know about other courses, but for Microbiology they accepted the course I took without lab.
httleeds - thanks so much. I'm currently taking Chem 1 and A&P 1 labs because I did not know if I would be accepted into this program. I have 3 classes I need to take this summer (Chem2, A&P2 and Microbiology) and it would save me a lot of time and money if I didn't have to take the lab... and I would still be able to work! I've tried emailing and calling but not much response. I guess I'll keep trying just in case?
Hi - for anyone wanting to know about merit scholarships, I spoke with the admissions office this morning and confirmed that any merit scholarship awarded would have been mentioned in the paper admissions letter we received. If there is nothing in the letter about an award, then unfortunately you (like me) are not receiving one. Sorry! Just thought this would be helpful for those curious.
Also, I confirmed that both the BSN and MSN are awarded for the direct-entry program, but the BSN is not awarded until the end of the 3 years. So if you want to work during the MSN portion, you will have to find a job without the benefit of the BSN degree.
Good luck to all still awaiting an admissions decision!
Is anybody else accepted/attending for the psych speciality? Just realized that we don't get Summers off....which seems kind of weird. It's only one class required in the Summer but judging by the curriculum online it seems like we're the only speciality required to take a Summer class. Same number of credits so I wonder why...

I also remember them saying labs weren't required at the info session, but I'm skeptical about that because they also said (and "they" meaning the dean of the school, although it sounded like she was talking off the top of her head and wasn't 100% confident about these points) that you could take the prereqs pass/fail, and in the acceptance letter, it said you need to get at least a C on the prereqs. I think your best bet is to call the school to confirm this. I haven't seen the classes offered by too many places without labs - I haven't taken general chem yet, and this is the one class I listed on my app as taking without a lab, and nobody has said anything to me about this yet...
