Acceptance Letters? MGH Direct-Entry Master's in Nursing

Published

Hello!

Does anyone know when acceptance letters will be mailed out for the MGH d-e master's in nursing program? I know it's only been 3 weeks since the January 10th deadline, but I'm sure I'm not the only one biting my nails in the interim. :) I've looked through a few similar threads from a few years ago-- most students seemed to receive letters in early March, but who knows whether their program deadlines were the same. Thought I'd ask the question to get some discussion going. Hope all of us hear back soon! Good luck, everyone!

I got waitlisted at MGHIHP, Regis and UCSF (high priority list) for FNP. I was also accepted to UMass Boston's Accelerated BSN. This is all getting very messy for me...exciting, but a mess...

I got my acceptance to Simmons today! I'm done hearing from schools, which is a nice thing. I'm looking forward to the MGH admitted students day on Saturday.

Does anyone know about deferrals at MGH? I thought I heard at the info session you can defer a year....

Hey Choco,

Congratulation on your acceptance to Simmons. You were so excited about MGH,why would you want to defer admittance if you dont might me asking?

Hi Johanne! I am very excited about MGH, and I definitely plan on attending! I just have a change in circumstances with my husband's job, as well as a health-related issue, and it would make everything a lot easier to start next fall as opposed to this fall. It will be difficult to wait because I am pretty excited about starting, however sometimes life throws you curve balls :) I hope MGH will be accommodating about this.

Have you decided where you will be going yet?

I was accepted to MCPHS but wait listed at MGH. If I get off the wait list I plan on going to MGH. If not I will be going to MCPHS.

Fingers crossed with the waitlist johanne. mcphs is a great place, btw. I used to live near that area, it is such a nice location - you would be right in the midst of the longwood medical area, right next to all of the hospitals. Plus, they have added so many new buildings recently on their campus, it is amazing... My husband and I always joked that mcphs must have recently come into a huge endowment, because they had almost nothing in the area just a few years ago! That is def a good sign.

Hey everyone, congrats on all of your acceptances! I'll go going to the MGH admitted students day this Saturday. i already sent in my deposit for MGHIHP and can't wait to start in the fall. I got accepted into family NP and am really excited! I look forward to meeting my future classmates :)

Hi kd23. Congratulations! I am not able to attend the admitted students day on Saturday, so please post about it afterwards to let us know what happened, what they talked about, and what you thought of it. Thanks!

Sent my deposit into MGH yesterday! I'll be going for child/adolescent psych track...can't wait to start and meet everyone Saturday!

I have already sent my deposit as well, and i'm also not able to attend the orientation day because I'm stuck in chicago. So if anyone is going, please share your experiences!

Very excited to meet everyone in the fall!:)

MGH vs NEU.... assuming people in this chat chose MGH, just wondering your reasons why vs NEU program.

Thanks!

They didn't offer the specialty I was looking for and also they don't give you a B.S. at the end of the program. They mentioned something about a six month co-opt, or something like that, which i wasn't sure whether or not i wanted to do it.
