  1. Hi jswhal, I would be interested in being part of this Facebook group. Please post the link after you have created it. Thanks for your networking efforts!
  2. Hello all and congrats to those who got in! I received my acceptance letter on Friday of last week. I'm now working to transition from full-time worker to full-time student. So many steps! rloh961 - According to the nursing handbook, clinical clearance involves making sure you are immunized, CPR certified and have health insurance. I've included a link to the handbook: http://bit.ly/i8W3Yt What I would like to know is if the tuition payment due dates for summer session classes apply to this program. Does anyone still have their information packets from the accelerated BSN info session? I went to a session two years ago and my information is probably outdated. Thanks!
  3. Just a quick update: after a month, I followed-up with the Office of Nursing Student Affairs at UCSF and there has been no movement on the FNP list...at least on my end. Any other updates? When do people expect to hear from other programs (Yale, Columbia, etc)?
  4. I got waitlisted at MGHIHP, Regis and UCSF (high priority list) for FNP. I was also accepted to UMass Boston's Accelerated BSN. This is all getting very messy for me...exciting, but a mess...
  5. Maybe I should call them. Haha! Congratulations!
  6. Hm...it's 10:37 AM EST on Thu, March 24 and I have not heard a peep from MGH...I'm guessing they are a no.
  7. My face has been plastered to this thread for updates! Oh, the suspense! I also have not heard anything. I am still hoping for that phone call! It's still very early in the decision process for many schools, especially if they start in September. I still have four schools to hear from, but my fingers are crossed for UCSF!

  9. I read somewhere that MGH is sending notifications out by the end of this or next week. There is an MGH thread on allnurses. Let me see if I can find the link.
  10. Just spoke with the program coordinator who let me know decisions are being mailed out April 1st. There were 300 some-odd applicants for 24 slots. At this point I am guessing without an interview invite that I am a no!
  11. Hello Hopefullll! I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I was hoping to private message you, but I'm not quite cool enough yet. :-) When I applied to UCSF for their 2011 cohort, I was terrified that they would take one look at my transcript and throw my application in the trash. I didn't exceed in college because my life at home was tough. I had a 3.0 overall GPA and about a 3.0 overall on my pre-reqs. I think what's most important is that you express your passion for the field (in your essay) and your interest in the school. Obtain letters of recommendation that echo your passion and excellence. Additionally, if you are concerned about your A&P grade, call up the nursing school at UCSF and let them know! If they understand that you exceed academically under normal circumstances, they might be empathetic. However, you won't know until you communicate your concern with the school. From someone with my background, I managed to get invited to an interview and get waitlisted at UCSF. You won't know if they will let you in until you try. Don't let this grade, or any other grade, number, statistic, thing you have read that is terrifying, etc., be an obstacle for you! Best of luck and don't hesitate to ask me any questions you may have!
  12. Hey there! I'm glad to hear letters are going out soon. That's at least one school that will soon be off of my nail-biting list. I have a feeling they will say no, though. Not sure why, but I do...
  13. We are halfway through March and I have not heard a word from Northeastern. Any idea when they will be mailing out their decisions? Looks like it's time for me to make some phone calls!
  14. I'm from Boston, too! But I haven't heard a peep so I'm assuming the answer from UH Manoa will be no! That's okay. I'm waitlisted at UCSF and Regis College. Now I just have to hope someone says yes!
  15. Hmm... So I skimmed through this thread and realized A.) I was never invited for an interview (but I'm from Boston so I'm not sure if that makes a difference) and B.) I was only asked to fill out a financial aid form for the Graduate school. The deadline for the form is some point in May, but I faxed it over way ahead of time. I'm curious where I stand at CSULA. Currently, I'm waitlisted at USCF for their MEPN (FNP specialty) as well as at Regis College in Massachusetts for their accelerated BS/MS program. I am yet to hear from five other schools in the Massachusetts area and on the west coast. And congratulations to all who have been accepted to the ELMN at CSULA! I will let you know in April what my letter says!
