Acceptance letters-Ivy Tech 2014

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

Good morning potential nursing students! As we wait for the end of May to arrive, to receive our acceptance letters for the fall 2014 nursing program, I know there will be times of doubt. I am very guilty of second guessing myself. Questions arise such as...did I turn in everything that was required? Are my scores high enough? Am I missing something, such as an orientation or meeting? Are there others that feel just as crazy and neurotic as I do? The only type of reassurance we can receive is from the support of family, friends, but most important, pre-nursing students who are in your same position. Please feel free to ask questions or state concerns. Lets get through these next few months together! Hopefully we will all get the answer we have been working so hard on receiving and can continue our journey together!

Yes Lafayette and Lawrence tend to be highly competitive so I retook the teasv. Advisors there say to aim for an 85 or higher and straight a's. I wanted to make sure I got the best score I could possibly get. Good luck to you. I've found that I probably would have been fine with the first score but I had to try to get a higher score just so I knew I did the best that I could.

Oh yes, I have heard about Lawrence. Many people come to Anderson to take classes because they are really, really hard down there I have heard. It's not that Anderson is easy, I just think we have some really good instructors who care whether you pass or not. I'm quite happy with the way everything is there so far. I just hope if I get in, they don't send me to Muncie or New Castle. It is my understanding that you apply for the whole region and can be put anywhere.

I was going to apply at greencastle, terre haute and Anderson but I decided to put all my eggs in just two baskets. Do you know how many spots your campuses have open for the fall semester?

I think on average most of the campuses, excluding Indianapolis, have around 30-40 spots, depending on the year.

You can call the campuses specifically and ask them if you want accurate numbers.

Heather...when I was looking into Anderson, that's what I was under the impression of. It's more than an hour drive for me but I hear positive things about that campus.

Anderson has 20, Muncie 30, and New Castle 20. I can't drive the whole way to New Castle. Muncie is about 20 miles where Anderson is only 10 so I am really hoping to get into there. We've all been talking a trying to compare scores so we can kind of judge what we will need to get in. Lol. It's been lots of chatter since Monday.

I bet! I only know one other person that applied for Lafayette, so I have no idea who has applied other than her. I do know that a&p 102 has been very hard for a lot of the potential nursing students. In my class only 3 pulled off an A.

I also applied to Lafayette and Lawrence with all A's and an adjusted TEAS score of 84.7. I strongly considered retaking it, but decided not to. Hopefully, it will be good enough!!! Good luck to everyone...only 2 more months of waiting!!

Angelmarcelle, if you get accepted at both, which one is your first pick? I am still trying to figure this question out. I have been mostly attending Lafayette because I love their campus, but I am not sure who offers the better program and which one will have the better clinical facilities.

I'm torn, as well! I definitely think Lafayette has a nicer campus, but I've heard good things about the program at Lawrence.

I just started a new thread about the different choices of campuses, so hopefully I can get some insight from current and past students on which one to pick, if I get that choice!
