Acceptance letters-Ivy Tech 2014

Published

Good morning potential nursing students! As we wait for the end of May to arrive, to receive our acceptance letters for the fall 2014 nursing program, I know there will be times of doubt. I am very guilty of second guessing myself. Questions arise such as...did I turn in everything that was required? Are my scores high enough? Am I missing something, such as an orientation or meeting? Are there others that feel just as crazy and neurotic as I do? The only type of reassurance we can receive is from the support of family, friends, but most important, pre-nursing students who are in your same position. Please feel free to ask questions or state concerns. Lets get through these next few months together! Hopefully we will all get the answer we have been working so hard on receiving and can continue our journey together!

Good luck! I was really nervous when I turned in my application. Even though the required documents are all listed on the application, I still find myself questioning if I completed the application. Which campus are you applying to? I'm trying to get into the ASN program at South Bend. The next few months are definitely going to be an anxious wait.

Thank you, you too! I have applied at Lafayette and Lawrence campuses. I live right smack in the middle of both of them. I am also trying to get into the ASN program. When my advisor suggested that I make a plan B, I simply told her that plan A is all that I want and if that doesn't work out, well...thats not even an option for me! I am very excited and anxious at the same time! What score did you receive on your teasv if you don't mind me asking?

Also, on older postings, I noticed that people were able to get information such as how many people applied and scores that the applicants received from Ivy Tech. If anyone has any information on how this information can be accessed on the campus connect website, please share this information. Thank you!

I think the weighted score was around 84%? I really stumbled on the anatomy questions - I misread a lot of questions which brought down my science score. But I got 100% on the math section - it made me feel a little better - unfortunately, it has less weight. I thought about applying to Lafayette, but it would require me to move. I actually obtained a bachelor's already so I'm hoping it will make the schooling process a little easier for me, although I hear nursing programs are way more intense. Did you apply for the LPN programs as well, or just the ASN?

About the past scores of campus, they're not available online. You'll have to call and ask the specific campus' nursing department. I'm not sure why they don't post the information, because it would be helpful and make me less stressed if I knew the scores of previous applicants, but that's just how they do it.

I did not apply for the PN. I am currently working for a well known Indiana hospital and love my job, so its all or nothing for me. I will have to continue on to get my BSN in order to work for my current employer as the no longer hire LPN's or ASN's (unless they are in the process of obtaining their BSN). I wish you the best of luck! It sounds like you have been very busy obtaining your education. :)

How did you score on your TEAs? If you look on the Ivy Tech message board, I think there were members from previous years of the Lawrence campus that shared some of their scores. It could give you an idea of what you're competing with. Well, it sounds like you've got a set idea on your goals, which is great! I hope you get in. Actually, my bachelor's is something that I got because everyone else was going to college, but it was something that I was not passionate about. It only took me 4 years to decide that! Oh well, I hope that I will be able to become an RN. Only have to wait until the end of May to find out! Let me know if you ever need words of encouragement. I know I will :)

I had to take the TEAs exam twice. The first time I scored a 76 and my final time I scored an 87. Even with the practice exams, I wasn't sure what to expect and the science portion was surprising (to say the least)!

Yes, the science section does seem to me a composition of random questions. I guess that's probably why I did the worst on that part. Congratulations on the high score! I'm sure you'll get into either campus!

I am applying to the Anderson campus. You retook a 76%? That's a pretty good score. I got a 78 and from what I understand no one yet has applied with a score above that. I also have all A's in the prereqs. I think my score was a point score of 168. Plus you get extra points for having done all of your prereqs at that campus. I know of some people that applied to 5 or 6 campuses.

I only applied to the South Bend campus, so fingers crossed that I get in!

Good Luck!! I hate the waiting part.
