Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Published

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

good luck to everybody still waiting to hear!!! i hope you get great news tomorrow; you all have been waiting long enough! :)

I called and they told me 160 students. It is scary because it seems like everyone on this website has been accepted. I feel like they already reached their quota. Let's just hope we're added to that acceptance list. Lol

I totally feel where you are coming from, it seems like everyone has been accepted already :crying2: I called the other day and asked if they are still accepting people for those who haven't heard and they said yes until early June, so hopefully we will all become part of the good news soon! :yeah:

KKandes,

That's great news!!! Wow such a sigh of relief. Are all your boxes checked off on Albert? I hope we get in :)

All traditional and accelerated students take classes together. As a second degree student, you are automatically placed on the accelerated track, which means you will take classes over the summer. However, as an accelerated/second degree student you can decide to switch to the traditional semester format and skip the summer session. Similarly, as a traditional transfer student you can decide to instead take summer classes and join the accelerated track. I am a traditional transfer but plan to join the accelerated track.

I am not sure how many seats are available total. I remember reading somewhere (I think on an old thread here) that they look to enroll 120 students total (traditional transfer, accelerated, freshmen) each semester. Actually, I just found the thread. Here is the link.

For what its worth, it looks like you have much higher odds of being admitted as an accelerated student.

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!

Well, confirmed my acceptance...and made the deposit. $500 down.... 18,000 + to go. LoL

I actually might have to skip summer because of finances which would put me right on track with regular admissions.

you're allowed to postpone the summer session?

StephRN2be....Thanks so much for the info!!! That was very helpful :)

To those already accepted for the accelerated, anyone mind sharing their stats? GPA/sci GPA and volunteer/work experience? I think it would help the rest of us get a feel for where we stand!

Yup, all my boxes are checked off. I e-mailed admissions again today because I thought another batch would be sent out and she said acceptances are ongoing through late may/early June. Anyone else feel like this anxiety is going to take over them? This state of limbo is so hard...

I just want to know!!! It would be nice to know what the next few months of our lives look like. I promise to everyone who is waiting, even if I find out I get denied, I will post it on here as soon as I find out.

My goodness! What is taking so long? All of you are being such good sports about this! :yelclap:You have been waiting so long! I though they were supposed to send another batch out today? Maybe after 5 pm (the end of the work day)? I'll keep my fingers crossed for everybody!

I think we all need to wait it out. They have sent out the first batch, and I imagine they need to see who has sent in their deposit to gauge how many more students they can accept.

Jahworks, I was thinking the same thing. To those already accepted, what date was your initial deposit due by?
