  1. If you're going just to fill out paperwork...i personally would go with business casual. not a full suit, but a nice button down shirt and some slacks.
  2. NYC. New Grad, Medsurg 41/hr (with BSN) 44/hr for Nights + Benefits
  3. What happened with your other job offer?
  4. There's a generic college of nursing scholarship that almost every student in our class got. For me it was $5000/yr or 2500 each semester (all 4 semesters). Some folks in our class got a little bit more (2750-3k/semester). There are other scholarships you can apply for generally they have certain criteria/requirements/stipulations and selection processes. Check out --> http://nursing.nyu.edu/admissions/scholarships-awards
  5. a quick google search gave me this website : Infection Control Course for New York State Healthcare Providers ... online cert for $25. Just google "renew infection control certificate" and you'll get other options.
  6. When you guys refer to really really low salary, how low do you guys mean?
  7. Question to all those interviewed, about how long did it take from the time you applied for them to contact you for an interview?
  8. A ED fellowship job posting went up on the 23rd of May. I applied after i saw it. Is this thread for the ED or Pediatric fellowship?
  9. i was just recently accepted into their ABSN program. You should have no problem. I took both Nutrition and Developmental Psych online with no problem. On the admissions page I even believe only those two classes they don't mind being online courses.
  10. can you elaborate Scott on what you asked/what they said regarding Work Study? I'm considering doing work study as well and kind of confused as to how it works...
  11. you should still be eligible for TAP since it's an undergraduate degree. What you're not eligible for (if you're an accelerated student) are federal grants, the 'free' money that you dont have to pay back (such as the Pell Grant). People who already hold a bachelor's degree aren't eligible for those. Congrats to everyone who got in! And good luck to those who didn't, don't give up. Did anybody go to the meet and greets?
  12. Judging from the other Downstate thread on here, others have already registered for classes. I'm confused as to exactly when is the last time we (alternates) might here about acceptance into the program.
  13. You were an alternate for this incoming June class? And you received a phone call already? (guess that means ut's a no from Downstate for me lol) but... Do you mean orientation or Registration? The letter told us we would hear by registration, which i believe just passed or is in the beginning of May.
  14. Well, confirmed my acceptance...and made the deposit. $500 down.... 18,000 + to go. LoL you're allowed to postpone the summer session?
  15. The NYU College of Nursing does give out grants. I received $5000 in scholarship/grant money, from NYU for the 2011- 2012 year. Since EmEmJay shared, just to give everybody an idea of what financial packages are being given. In total i was offered $27,900 (13,950/semester). $5,000 scholarship/grants from NYU (2,500 per semester Fall/Spring). ESTIMATED $5,000 (2.5k / semester) grant from NY State TAP. (This most likely will be ALOT less since parent's income is a factor in how much $ you received.) 3,000 (1.5k/semester) work study... Rest = loans. Im currently trying to research private loans/scholarships/grants etc...
