Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!
I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.
I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.
Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

The official deposit is/was due three weeks from the day you received the acceptance email (i.e. I received my letter 4/15, so it would be due 5/6). Hope this helps! I really don't think they are waiting for deposits because it is rolling decisions essentially. I think they are just trying to review as many as possible before the next batch goes out. Plus the head of admissions is away at the moment, so that probably has slowed the process down a bit. :)
Some schools I have applied to have mentioned that if you don't get accepted into your desired program, you can fill out a form and be considered for a different program. Does anyone know if NYU does that? I know if you apply to two different programs at NYU they use all the required documents you sent in for program one for program two, so you don't have to resubmit all your scores, transcripts etc..
Thanks!
Hey EMTLeen18987 what other major would you consider applying for at NYU? You should call if you could do that at this point?
I called on Friday and still there is no determination on my APPLICATION. The admission counselor just assured me that all my documents were in. She said we should be hearing this week or next. Same old.
Maybe they are waiting for the first batch of students to make their deposit by the end of this week. That makes sense because if some students decide not to go they can offer more seats to the second batch and that is the reason is on-going admissions till June. I read this on another thread.
Have a great day all:D
TAB? You mean TAP or they changed the name? In my experience TAP always takes longest to come through, I handled the finacial aid apps for my husbands physio therapy app in 2009 and 2010 and everytime TAP didn't come through until a month or two after fall semester began. He got letters saying he had to prove he had signed up for selective service or prove a reason why he didn't. I did my fafsa months ago - heard nothing of TAP, but I'm yet file taxes going to today as had to file extension while I waited for my son's SSN to come through. You should absolutely apply for TAP - it could be up to $2500 per semester, my husband got a decent amount, if you're a greencard holder like me you'll probably get very little (well I mean $500 to cover books at least) or nothing.
I've been wanting to start a page for all the traditional nyu transfers but I couldnt quite figure it out and wasn't sure if there were that many using this site. So are there any other traditioonal applicants willing to create the site since idk how? Thanks
Hi Nessa123,
There is page for traditional transfer it's actually under "NYU Traditional/Transfer BSN Applicants for Fall 2011".
Silly me. Yes is TAP. I'm applying today. Thank you for the information Anderson11. I didn't qualify for it at LAGCC because the school cost there is cheap. I should get good financial aid award at NYU.
Hi Cabrini28- I am a transfer student as well. I would prefer to stay on this thread since I have been posting here for a long time now. Hang in there, we should be hearing soon. Good luck to us transfer students and everyone else. I heard they accept about 40 of us...

KKandes,
I am in DC right now & I looked at two of the schools I applied to & I don't want to go to any of them. It's either GW or NYU. I'm waitlisted at GW
