Accelerated BSN program NYU Fall 2011

Published

Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!

I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.

I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.

Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

Salarany.. I applied to the College of Nursing as a traditional transfer..Applied on December 3rd..still haven't heard anything. Have you called?

Hi EMTLeen1987,

I applied as a transfer mid-Feb. i called yesterday and the student ambassador gave me the same answer I'm sure they give everyone else -- "transfer students can expect to hear beginning to mid May on a rolling basis". I told them that the registration deadline for my current school is coming up in a few days and was wondering if it would be possible to find out earlier because, ideally, I'd like to know how to plan in the event I don't get into NYU, but the ambassador said something along the lines of requesting for an extension from my current school because they plan to roll out decisions for transfer in May.

I applied to Columbia also and was wait-listed. I still have not heard from NYU, so I called yesterday and they said my application is still under review and they have not reached a decision on my application. I applied for the priority decision for the accelerated program. She said I should know within 2 weeks, but I feel like I have been hearing that for some time now. I am just going to remain positive and know that I will end up where I am suppose to. Good Luck everyone!

Yikes, May!? I also need to know earlier than that. I started calling April 1st..and each time I called it was.. "You will know by the end of this week...by the end of next week..in 2 weeks...week of April 25th..etc" I just sent an EMail to a Nursing counselor to see if she could help me out..Haven't heard back yet. Its hard hearing that everyone else knows what their decision is.

I don't understand why the people that applied in December still haven't heard anything. I would've thought you would have been the first to find out. My friend applied in March and received an acceptance letter two weeks ago.

i hope you hear soon! i hope i do too. i certainly hate having to wait until may to find out the news, but i dont think there is anything more i can do. :crying2:

Did your friend apply to the accelerated program or the traditional program?

I applied to Columbia too and was put on the wait-list. KKandes and I shared similar experiences throughout the entire process. I already heard from NYU, but I thought they were supposed to send another batch today? Didn't someone hear that?

She applied for the accelerated program

I called yesterday and could not get an answer regarding my application status. (I applied for the AccBSN program- priority decision.) I got a few different answers from the different people I was transfered to, but my understanding is that another batch is going out at the end of this week. (I'm guessing Friday, since that's when it went out last time?) I guess the lady who is in charge of the nursing apps is out until next week, so I wouldn't expect to get an answer by calling before then.

For those who were already accepted, did it come to your personal email?

Good luck everyone and congrats to those who are already in!

Well, I asked **** in the admissions office about whether rejection letters have been sent out yet, so to anyone who is curious this is what she said:

"Admission decisions (acceptances and denials) began going out just over a week ago.

Decisions will be ongoing through late May/early June.

Thank you for your patience!"

Basically... same old, same old! I don't think I will hear until after my spring semester is over (May 15th), so I am going to try to lay low for a while!

I applied to the traditional Nursing program as a transfer student on December 3rd. I wrote an email to one of the Nursing counselors and received this reply today (4/26/2011):

"Dear Eileen,

Thank you for your email. I have looked at your application file on our end and

it looks like your application for the College of Nursing is complete and in the

review process; however, the committee has not yet made a decision on your

application at this time. Therefore, we would not be able to give you a

decision right at this moment.

However, please be advised that we do notify all applicants of their admission

decisions by email. Therefore, when the committee has finalized your

application and given a decision, you will be notified of that decision by

email.

If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to ask."

Not sure if that helps anyone..but they are definitely still reviewing. Even applications that were sent first priority.

Anyone want to check out a place for me in Jersey? LoL

I have a lead on a place but theres no way I can get out there. Been talking to the landlord for the past few days but cant help but be skeptical.
