Congrats to all those who were accepted!! I cant wait to meet everyone. Sorry Ive been MIA for a while. Im so sorry to hear about the people who didnt get in too. But theres always next semester! :) Applications open again in June so you can always try again! Does anyone know if they are having any meet and greets in July? I would really like to go to one. Or when is orientation? (Or is that what the meet and greet is?) I just booked my plane ticket to NY and Ill be moving there June 22nd! Its official! I almost had an anxiety attack booking a 1 way ticket!

I really dont think there is a difference between regular transfer and accelerated besides the fact that we (Accelerated) go non stop. We go throughout the summer whereas traditional has summer break. Its still the same amount of units and semesters. I actually might have to skip summer because of finances which would put me right on track with regular admissions.

Anyone want to check out a place for me in Jersey? LoL I have a lead on a place but theres no way I can get out there. Been talking to the landlord for the past few days but cant help but be skeptical.

Kandes and Anderson: First thanks Anderson for the info! We may have a lead on a place in Weehawken? Does that sound right? I dont even know if thats the name of it... But if it is heard anything good or bad about it. Also guys I started to doubt the whole price of tuition thing as well right when I was about to find out. Just a thought but maybe its a defense mechanism because you dont want to be let down if you dont get in. (Which you will!) Has anyone not gotten in by the way? It seems like more and more everyday are getting accepted. I dont know for me I feel like its worth it and maybe thats dumb. Maybe its not and Im just trying to justify it. lol But atleast for me I feel like Im paying for the experience. When else am I going to get the chance to move to NY and do a nursing program there. Also NYU is a great and very prestigious school. I feel like that may have some pull when we finally do get into the working world. Or if for some of us that may want to go to grad school. Also I know for me NYU was my top choice because they dont make you take any tests or do volunteer hours to get in. Maybe still not worth the $80000 tuition but these are just my thoughts... Im going to try and make it work. ...Even if I have to sell my first born.

Oh and Im having some issues with housing. What are everyones plans? I thought I was going to be moving with my husband but that might not be the case anymore. Its going to be a bit more complicated than I thought with his job and our dogs. I might be looking to bunk up with someone while I look for a place that allows my dogs... Anyone want to share their plans? Or want to help find a pet (large dog) friendly house/apartment..

Hello everyone! Congrats to the newly accepted!! :) I had a hard day yesterday with student loans... Not able to get any so had to get creative. Just thought Id share this for any of you who like me have horrible credit and need other options. They are letting me do a payment plan which is going to make it possible for me to go! For those of you interested they take all finaid out and then take the total and split it up into 3 payments. So for example after finaid I would owe $7000. They said I could pay 50% up front then 25% at the end of October and the remaining 25% at the end of November. This is making it WAY more doable for me!! Do any of you plan on working while in the program?

Kandes: It says they are giving me $22000 for the year (Fall 2011 and Spring 2012). Thats nothing when it breaks down to only $11,000 for each semester and semester costs $18,000. I would be short $7000 a semester not counting another $18k for the summer (since financial aid doesnt cover the summer). ...But we do get to apply for fin aid again for Fall 2012. So Im hoping thatll mean atleast another $11,000 for The last semester. Honestly the summer is whats scaring me. Whos going to give me a loan for almost $20k???! If I break it down to semesters though it seems doable but its still a butt load of money. Anyone have any good private loan info they wouldnt mind sharing?

Oh no. Just got my Financial aid award and it isnt much. What do you guys plan on doing for loans? Im kinda feeling discouraged.

Hey guys. I dont know if New York is different but I know In California the deadline is just something they reference. I ALWAYS did my Fafsa after the fact and they always accepted it. It was just a matter of how fast I would hear/get awarded. (Kinda like our priority vs regular deadline) Dont worry. But does anyone know when we will know how much financial aid we were awarded. My Albert still says not available.

That is so frustrating! I hated getting the run around but dont worry in the end guys it will all be worth it. I cant wait until we all get to meet each other! Also I called the Nursing office today to get more of a straight answer about school, she said Accelerated program starts September 19th. Still didnt get a straight answer on tuition but she estimated around $80,000. (This is what we were all thinking around.) Still ALOT though! I meant to ask if this included books or not but completely forgot. Anyone have any idea how theyre paying for this? Or anyone whos rich who wants to pay for my tuition too Id really appreciate that. My mom told me there is this website full of grants and scholarships. She couldnt remember the exact site but said shed text me later with it. Ill update you all when I get that. Hopefully that will help us with the cost!

My Albert says my application is incomplete and I was accepted if that makes you feel better. But my transcripts are checked off. When did you apply? Id email or call to make sure they have them.

Does anyone know when school officially starts? I thought early September but now I just found mid-September.
