Hi hopeful Fall 2011 NYU students!
I recently submitted my application for the accelerated BNS program. I saw that other semesters had discussions and I thought it would be nice to start one for us, just to help each other out through the application process.
I looked at past ones when I was filling out my application and found them to be helpful, so hopefully it will be for us.
Love to see who all is applying and how it's going:)

jdubs-I live in Fort Collins. NYU and Drexel are the only two school's I've applied to. I will apply to CU denver when I have completed my prerequisites. They won't let you apply until you are done.
Have you applied anywhere else?
Hey,
I have applied and been accepted to a smaller, private school near my parents' home in Baltimore called Stevenson University. I am also going to apply to CU-Denver for Spring 2012, but I am not getting my hopes up! I am probably going to attend the school in Baltimore, but I am still keeping my fingers crossed for NYU. Are you from the east coast originally or just trying to relocate there?

That's great! Congratulation! Nope I'm from Denver but I want to live in a big city while I'm young :) NYU is great with all the global connections, clinical opportunities ect. I also am really interested in NYU because it has a holistic nursing certificate in the master sector. So, if I love it (that is if I get in and love it) I will continue on there.
I was looking at John Hopkins in baltimore but its sooo expensive that I don't know....I'm going to have to re-evaluate after we hear from NYU.
Where did you go to undergrad, here in CO?

Thanks for the congrats! No, I actually went to the University of Delaware. (Everyone ALWAYS quotes Wayne's World when I tell them that! "Hi. I'm in... Delaware." Haha!) I grew up in Baltimore so UD was just around the corner. What about you? I spent some time in Philadelphia in college and visited my friend at Drexel a couple times. Definitely a fun area! Drexel is right downtown too, so if the big city experience is what you're looking for, you would be happy there.
And yes, JHU is so expensive! Even more so than NYU!
jdubs-
So what brought you out to the springs then?
Yes the reason I applied to Drexel was that I visited a friend over spring break and loved the city! Its so alive and seems to have a lot of room to grow....I figured it would be a really nice place to study for a year and maybe work and live there after for awhile.
I just graduated last May with a BA in French and Humanities from a small women's college in Claremont CA named Scripps. What did you get your first degree in?
Well in all fairness that isn't so bad. Only one week before they start responding. I hope I learn my fate sooner rather than later though. Waiting is not fun. I knew a friend who didn't hear back from them until June and it was killing her. Until she got an acceptance letter. So all worth it!

Long story short, when I graduated from UD in 2007 I wanted a change of pace, so I found a cheap sublet on Craigslist with a friend of mine and we made the move in 2008! I have a BA in Psychology, worked in the field for a little while and then decided to pursue nursing.
All of the posts about an upcoming decision are making me nervous too!
