accelerated BSN-azusa-EENAP @ san diego-Summer 2009

U.S.A. California

Hi,

I got accepted into EENAP program at azusa-san diego campus for summer 2009 semester. Does anyone has an idea of how the program is, and what are the hospitals where they have the clinics? I am relocating to san diego and I don't have any idea of what would be a good place to rent a apartment. I am not a big fan of traffic and driving, so I am looking for anything which will be commute wise the best choice. How I wish, I could live in walking distance of everything:mad:.........I know, it is a impossible dream.

Please guys, if you know just know about anything, do let me know. Thanks!!!!!!!!:nurse:

Hi Theresa,

Thank you for the e-mail. I am looking forward to starting as well. I am looking right now for a BLS class. Luckily I don't have any required classes to take this term so I can focus on getting ready. What area of San Diego do you live? I live in Solana Beach right off of the 5 so it won't be that much of a commute. Thanks so much for connecting and I am looking forward to talking. See you soon.

Beth Anne

Hi Beth Ann,

There is a free cpr class with Southwestern college and the class itself is located in Coronado.

Check page 12 of this link: http://www.swccd.edu/Pdfs/Cont_Ed_Fall_2009_Web.pdf

I am taking the Oct 12 class. It fills up fast as it is free, so call as soon as you decide. I am from San Diego and live in the Paradise Hills/Encanto area, so I am not worried about the commute at all. Just eager to get started.

Regards,

Theresa

Thanks Theresa! I will check it out. Talk to you soon.

Beth Anne

Hi Kristi,

I am sure you will be able to attend in the spring. Everyone's plans change and people go to different schools etc. I am planning on staying in Solana Beach. I live right off the 5 on Lomas Santa Fe so the commute is reasonable. I am hoping I can start a carpool to ease some of the commuting. Have you done your BLS? I am looking at several different classes. I am hoping to do one at Scripps Encinitas. My husband is an RN so he is good about giving me good advice. I do have some anxiety about the amount of work. My husband recommends a good study group and spending every spare moment studying. It should be quite the challenge. Are you doing any pre-reqs right now? Luckily I am done with my pre-reqs so I can just focus on BLS, getting shots etc. Anyway, thanks for your e-mail reply and I will talk to you soon.

Beth Anne

Beth Anne,

I've finished all the prereqs and now I am just playing the waiting game. I'm feeling a little discouraged that I won't get in to the spring session, but what can I do? What prereq are you finishing? Regarding the BLS, I wasn't aware that I had to get that certification, so I should probably look into that.

I think your husband has some great advice and a study group would prove very beneficial. You can count me in!

Beth Ann and Kristi,

Hello! I am also an incoming student for cohort 12 at the San Diego EENAP. I am so excited, I can't wait to just get started already. I would also like to connect with any new students. Renee mentioned there are 30 students in our cohort.

Kristi - have you heard about getting in yet? Goodluck to you! I hope you get in as well.

Theresa

Hi Theresa!

Thanks for the wishes. I emailed was told that as of now there are no openings for Spring. I'll try again in a few weeks.

Are 30 students the typical size of a cohort? It seems reasonable and unfortunately I'm sure some people are lost throughout the years.

Have you begun the enrollement and registration process yet?

Kristi

Hi Kristi,

We are supposed to have CPR certification by December 1st. They recommend getting it done through the American Heart Association so that it will be valid for 2 years. I just got on their website and signed up for BLS for healthcare providers. Are you talking with them about availability for the spring. I am done right now with everything. I am just getting all of the stuff done that I need before school starts. I hope that a spot opens up for you. I know it is hard to wait. Thanks for keeping in touch.

Beth Anne

2bnurse_it,

I've been accepted into the accelerated APU program and was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing how you were able to finance the program? It seems like such an overwhelming expense. Any information would be great!

Hi,

That is a really good question. Since I am not starting until January I am hoping to apply for some scholarships. I need to get moving on it. Also, I did apply for financial aid and I know I am going to have to take out some loans. Sorry I can't be more help but I strongly suggest doing some research on scholarships. Are you starting in January? Good luck.

Beth Anne

I am interested in ABSN in Azusa Pacific University Main Campus. Does anyone know how long will it take to finish the program? and how much is the tuition fee? do they offer financial aid or student loan to help someone like me who does not have work right now because its so hard to find a job as LVN. Please reply I want to know more about this program.

I am looking at the EENAP program in San Diego. If any of you are already in the program please advise how the class schedule works. Are classes and clinicals mostly evenings and weekends?

Hi All,

I have just found the EENAP program and i am super excited. I am just starting to get into the application process and i have requested more info from the program director. Does anyone know how the program works as it relates to the schedule? Are the classes at nite? Is class one nite a week? Is there a set schedule for the clinical rotations?

I currently work at Kaiser and im wonder if i will be able to still work there or will i have to quit to do the program?

Also, can i apply and not have completed all the pre-reqs???? Thats a big question that i need to get answered.

Thanks, all!

Hi everyone,

Has anyone heard back from the EENAP program for summer 2011? For those who got accepted, how long did you guys wait?

Thanks.
