accelerated BSN-azusa-EENAP @ san diego-Summer 2009

Published

Hi,

I got accepted into EENAP program at azusa-san diego campus for summer 2009 semester. Does anyone has an idea of how the program is, and what are the hospitals where they have the clinics? I am relocating to san diego and I don't have any idea of what would be a good place to rent a apartment. I am not a big fan of traffic and driving, so I am looking for anything which will be commute wise the best choice. How I wish, I could live in walking distance of everything:mad:.........I know, it is a impossible dream.

Please guys, if you know just know about anything, do let me know. Thanks!!!!!!!!:nurse:

I applied late May 2009 and and heard from them a few months later (around september or october) for Summer 2011 admission.

Thanks for the reply. I applied in November and is still waiting for their decision. Did you receive a phone call or a letter from them? Congrats on your acceptance =).

Congrats! We will probably be in the same cohort, you're right. That's great! Have you taken the biochem/ochem requirement? I have yet to take it. I'm hoping to take the cuyamaca course chem 102. What did you take? I am looking forward to finally starting nursing school, can you believe it is less than a year away?

I just wanted to know how you like the program? I just got a denial letter, for Spring 2010, but I am not giving up just yet. I would love to hear your thoughts on the school and any advice you have for me. you can email me at [email protected] or just reply to this! I would really appreciate it! Thanks=) Hope school is going well.

Hi everyone,

I'm highly interested in Azusa's EENAP program. Does anyone know how competitive it is to get in the program and how many applicants actually get in?

I've been reading that GPA is a huge factor. I got my first degree in Biological Sciences and my undergrad GPA isn't all that strong, but I have all As in the prereqs. I have over 2 yrs volunteer experience working in a hospital, as well as helping run free medical clinics for the homeless, volunteering at a home for Dementia patients, and lots and lots of childcare experience. I am also active in my faith organization and I know that Azusa places an emphasis on Christian values. It seems like a fit, but I'm a little concerned bc my GPA isn't very competitive. =(

Any advice would be great! I also applied for CSU San Marcos' ABSN program, but now I'm seeing that Azusa might be more beneficial bc I'd also be able to obtain my MSN too (I eventually want to become a Nurse Practitioner). It sounds like its a long waiting game in order to be accepted! I'm looking into applying for Spring 2011, but I havent completed the application process quite yet. If you don't get in the first time around, do they roll your application over for the next cohort?

I hear that Azusa is filling spots for 2012 now. =( I know they only accept 20-30 people per cohort depending on how many cohorts they have each year. They are trying to do 3 each year now, which means they will accept 20 each cohort. I know a person who applied last May and is in the Jan 2011 cohort.

It sounds like you are ready to start nursing school soon like I am, and waiting around for another 2 years just to start a program. I am interested in CSSM but I want a faster program. Have you looked into SDSU's new program? The program they took over from Oklahoma?

Hope everything goes well!

If you plan to apply to Azusa do it ASAP. Good Luck

anyone applying or got accepted to the Fall 2011 San Diego EENAP program? I am anxiously waiting!

Dear xabbey,

It sounds like you were in the same boat as I was in regards to your GPA. My undergrad GPA not the best but I had A's in all of my prereqs. I did not have the volunteer experience that you have and yet, I was accepted into the Fall 2010 program. I've been waiting awhile to begin, but I ensure you there is hope! Good luck! Something will open up for you!

Has anyone been accepted into the Fall 2010 cohort?

i applied for fall 2011, has anyone been accepted to the fall 2011 cohort? i read that some people called APU and were notified on their admission status. would it be so bad if i called them just to see what's up? the waiting game is no fun!

I agree that the waiting game is nerve-racking. I found the people at APU to always be very friendly and helpful. So, give them a call to see what your status is. Good luck!

Is there a difference between having an interview over the phone or in person? Do they prefer you to interview in person?

Also, what is there to expect during a pre-advising interview? Anything we should do to prepare ourselves?

Dear Snwboardgrl1226,

I am also accepted into the fall 2010 cohort! It's been such a long waiting game and I'm excited to start. Have you recieved any information recently? Our start date is approaching quickly and I'm a little anxious.

Do you currently reside in San Diego? Have you come across anyone else who's in our cohort?

I couldn't send you a private message so hopefully you'll see this post.

Kristi
