accelerated BSN-azusa-EENAP @ san diego-Summer 2009

U.S.A. California

Hi,

I got accepted into EENAP program at azusa-san diego campus for summer 2009 semester. Does anyone has an idea of how the program is, and what are the hospitals where they have the clinics? I am relocating to san diego and I don't have any idea of what would be a good place to rent a apartment. I am not a big fan of traffic and driving, so I am looking for anything which will be commute wise the best choice. How I wish, I could live in walking distance of everything:mad:.........I know, it is a impossible dream.

Please guys, if you know just know about anything, do let me know. Thanks!!!!!!!!:nurse:

Is there a difference between having an interview over the phone or in person? Do they prefer you to interview in person?

Also, what is there to expect during a pre-advising interview? Anything we should do to prepare ourselves?

I don't think there is a difference between the two types of interviews. I believe it just depends on your location.

The pre-advising interview consists of reviewing what pre-reqs you've completed and whether it meets thier standards. Have your transcripts with you and any future planned courses you are going to take. That should cover it!

Good luck!

ksbash- YAY!! I have been trying to find someone who will be in my cohort as well. Yes....I currently live in Pacific Beach. I applied in June of last year for Fall 2010 admission but was waitlisted. I just found out last week that I will be starting in Fall 2010. I am so excited! I also applied to MSMC in la, and have and interview with them this week. I love san diego but I know MSMC's program has been around longer and is probably more organized and more well known but I decided even if I got accepted I would go to APU because I can't stand the thought of living in downtown LA.

I have not heard anything back from APU regarding anything about orientation. I really wish we could speak with someone who is already in the program and could give us some advice. I am nervous because I think that the program clinicals are very disorganized because it is a new program. I have to send in my 1000 dollar deposit and give them my updated transcripts. I did talk to ----- and she told me that there is a new research course requirement this year. So I would maybe see if you could take something online so you don't have to take it while during the program and add extra stress to yourself.

I think you can only send private messages to people if you have more then 15 posts. But you can get in contact with me by my screen name on here at hotmail. Feel free to get a hold of me and we can speak further. :)

For all who are curious.....I saw this on another page...... this was someone's schedule for the EENAP progarm at APU

Monday from 8-6, Wed from 2:30-4:30, and Friday we have lab but the time depends on what lab group you are in (I'm in group B, so I go from 11:30-2:30).

The clinical schedule is a mess! My group and group C have clinicals Tues and Thurs. Group A has clinicals Tues and Wed. And depending on the week we either have the morning shift ( 7-1:30) or the afternoon shift (1:30-7:30). For the first 3 weeks instead of clinicals we have skills lab on tues and thurs from 8-2:30. Then for the next 4 weeks my group has clinicals in the afternoon and for the next 7 weeks after that we have clinicals in the morning.

I just got accepted into the Spring 2012 cohort. I am really excited, but kind of disappointed I have to wait so long. I had applied for Spring 2011, but I guess they are backed up. I will be done with all of the requirements by the end of this summer, and they said I might get bumped to an earlier cohort. Do any of you know the chance of that happening?

oh no, they're backed up? when did you submit your application? i applied for fall 2011 & i hope i don't get pushed back too. how did they notify you of your acceptance?

I submitted my application in February (I think the 19th is when they actually received it). I called ----- and she told me that they made a bunch of decisions a few Thursdays ago, and that I had gotten in. You can email her as well and she responds fairly fast. When did you submit your application? Good luck!

oh & congrats on your acceptance! =)

Thanks so much! I would definitely recommend calling -----, she's very nice and helpful. I hope you get in! Have you applied anywhere else?

PS

I just spoke with my friend, who also applied in February. He got accepted to Spring/Fall 2012.

i just got accepted for spring 2012 also! :D

Yay, congratulations! That's awesome! Are you going to school right now, or are you done with the requirements? My name is Mia, by the way!

thanks! i'm all done with prereqs, although i need that research class they want us to take but we've got ~2 yrs to work on that, haha! i, too, am feeling a little ehh about the long wait til the program starts but i'm super excited to even have the opportunity! are you done w/ classes? do you know what's next in this whole admission process?

oh, & my name is abby. we're in for a long & worthwhile adventure :)

Hi Abby! What is this research requirement? I haven't heard of it...will you let me know what it is about? Anyways, I'll be done with all my requirements this summer (I'm going to be taking Human Growth and Development and Speech). The wait will let me save up more money, but I am too eager to start! Have you already accepted yet? I think we are supposed to email ------- to let her know you have accepted. Then she will give you more information, blah blah blah. Would you like to take via email (I feel bad clogging up this discussion board, hah!)? My email is [email protected].
