accelerated BSN-azusa-EENAP @ san diego-Summer 2009

U.S.A. California

Hi,

I got accepted into EENAP program at azusa-san diego campus for summer 2009 semester. Does anyone has an idea of how the program is, and what are the hospitals where they have the clinics? I am relocating to san diego and I don't have any idea of what would be a good place to rent a apartment. I am not a big fan of traffic and driving, so I am looking for anything which will be commute wise the best choice. How I wish, I could live in walking distance of everything:mad:.........I know, it is a impossible dream.

Please guys, if you know just know about anything, do let me know. Thanks!!!!!!!!:nurse:

Hi! I've been accepted for the Spring 2011 program but I just recieved a letter regarding the research course. I have all my other prereqs done and was looking forward to a break but now I need to take this class. Does anyone know what class this is? I can't find any information about it. And if so, where can it be taken? Thanks for any help!

Hi!

I've been searching local community colleges for the Intro to Research to Methodology course & I can't seem to find one. Anyone else have any luck?

Hi Abby!

I still have not received any information regarding the Research Methods course. ---- told me that it cannot be taken at a community college because it needs to be a level 300 class. I have emailed both her and ---- some classes that I feel should be accepted, but they have not gotten back to me. Maybe you can email them and see what classes they suggest. Thanks!

Mia

Hey Mia!

You can't take it at a community college? Weird! Anyway, I also emailed them and I'll let you know what they say.

Hi all,

Can you guys keep me posted if you hear anything about the research course? I've been stressed trying to find one because I need to take it in the fall and I haven't heard back regarding the classes I have asked about. But they were at Junior colleges! What are some of the classes that you all have found?

Hello katiekoll,

I've also been accepted for Spring 2011. It has been difficult to find information and students from APU's EENAP program. Are you going to the San Diego campus? How do you feel about the program? What made you decide to attend APU?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Elisbrasilia!

Its good to hear from someone who is going to be in the same program! I will be attending the San Diego campus. I'm excited to start the EENAP program (I'm ready for a change) and I've heard good things about it from a friend of mine who has already graduated. She really enjoyed it. I'm just not looking forward to this research class prereq because I thought I was done till Jan! But I was able to find one at Mesa College. What made you want to attend Azusa and have you already taken the research class or did you find one to take? Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Katiekoll,

good to hear from you! I heard about Azusa from a friend of mine also (who never attended it though). We were both taking the prerequisite courses for National University's program. She told me about APU when she knew I have a BA. I applied to Azusa when I was waiting to hear from National. I got accepted to National first, and had everything ready to start this October. Then I received the acceptance letter from Azusa, and I became very excited! Some of the reasons I've chosen APU are the combined BSN/Master's degree, the length of the program, and the distance from my house.

About the research class, I have taken one already (it is from my previous Bachelor's). I remember at my interview, I was told that the research class was going to be required from Spring/2011 cohort. It has to do with it being a graduate program.

And how is your lifestyle now? I have two small children and am very worried about going through nursing school with them :uhoh3:

Hi All,

I was accepted into the SD EENAP program but not until Summer 2012! Crazy long waiting period to start! Am thinking about starting sooner elsewhere but....

I tried OU's prgram but found it to be very disorganized....good thing I dropped because I heard that their graduating students don't have a very good rep and are having a tough time getting work.

Is Azusa any more organized or supportive?

I'm 50 yrs old, no kids or hubby to worry about and money isn't an issue....but from what I've read it's REALLY tough schedule.

I don't learn as easily as I did when I was 20-30 yrs old. I have to read everything 3 times! (grin...sad but true)

So, (to anyone in the program): if you don't mind, please tell me what you think. Is is worth waiting 2 yrs for?

PS: has it gotten any better out there as far as jobs go? Where do you do your clinicals?

My name is Renee and I am accepted to the Spring 2011 cohort. I spoke with ----- and she said that the Psychology Research Methods CAN be taken at the JC level. Mesa College has one class each semester. I hope to get in but I an #5 on the wait list. She also said a couple other things: 1) That APU us trying to get an online Research Methodology class going and 2) that those of us that haven't taken the course before starting can take the course at APU. But she didn't know when we would have to do so.

That's about it. She is absolutely wonderful and very helpful. She'll get back to you with 24 hours-usually sooner if possible-so if you are accepted, give her a call. Otherwise talking with -------- is the way to go if applying and waiting to hear about acceptance.

Anybody else here starting in SPRING 2011? Let's get together. my email address is [email protected]

My name is Renee and I am accepted to the Spring 2011 cohort.

PS: I WAS accepted to Summer 2012 but got bumped up because I was already on the wait list for Spring 2011. Be sure and talk with ----- if you were accepted for a much later cohort. There may be a chance that you'll get in earlier....but you HAVE TO ASK TO BE PUT ON THE WAIT LIST. Otherwise she'll just think that you are okay with waiting.

I don't know if there are anymore openings for Spring....but it's worth a shot to try for an earlier cohort. Just be persistent. I must have spoken with her 5-6 times this summer!

Hi Renee,

yeah we should definitely get together sometime! We are a small group (20 students, right?), and I think the support from each other will be very important. And, we will be together for at least 15 months! :D

Do you guys know that the EENAP/SCAN programs have a new name, and it is also a graduate program (that is why the research class requirement)? I think it is a big advancement in the program.

We should open a new thread with the new name. Information about APU is scattered everywhere, and this tread has an outdated name :lol2:

I agree that the faculty is very helpful and caring. And, I am also very excited to attend a Christian school.

Looking forward to meeting you all,

Elis
