ABSN UMass Amherst 2015

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

So, I would really like to get into UMass Amherst for there 2015-2016 cycle, so I will be sending in my application soon for there February 2015 deadline.

I'm just wondering if I even have a chance since my Bachelors in Biology overall GPA is a 2.99, then I took a summer course (Microbiology) at a community college and received an A. Hopefully that'll boost my GPA up for my degree?

I also have over 2,500 hours as a Certified Nursing Assistant, and I've studied abroad in England/Ireland for a Biology course.

This is my number one school that I would like to get into too, I was just wondering other peoples statistics on their GPA average, GPA for their pre-reqs, and if anyone has been or is in the program can tell me about it?

Thanks :)

I also sent a thank you email the next day after the interview and they didnt respond, that's what i expected anyway, they are so busy reviewing applicants and getting ready for the program. Good luck with your interview today @brunettebelle!

I'm trying to be patient, since I know they haven't made all their decisions yet, but it's SO hard to wait!!

Is today the last day for interviews or do they go all week?

I believe they go till the end of this week.

@fafa15 - My previous major is Criminal Justice. I have worked at the Veterans Affairs Hospital for 1 year prior to applying.

@Yurany - I also emailed a thank you, just now for the interview. Thanks for the well wishes. I hope you hear something soon!

The interviews last all week so we should all hear soon :) I feel like the interview today face-to-face went great, I felt a lot more prepared than last year. So, we'll see what happens. -- For everyone else, is UMass your first choice and are ya'll applying elsewhere?

My interview was last Thursday, I wonder if it's too late to send a thank you email

For the people that got their acceptance letters- did it come in a regular size or big envelope? Just curious so I know what to look out for! 😉 Hopefully all of you that's been waiting awhile will hear something soon!!

@Y'leah its better to send the Thank You letter/email late than not at all, however, I have read that it is best to send it within 48hrs after the interview.

@brunettebelle my acceptance letter came in a regular letter sized envelope

My interview is later on today via Fuze, I'm extremely nervous because this is the number one program I would love to get into. Ahhh, wish me luck!

good luck allylyn!

Good luck Allylyn!

Good luck allylyn! Just remember to breathe & think positive :)

Thank you @brunettebelle @fafa15 @bex177 !!! It went well, but I was very nervous & jumbled up my words a bit, like I usually do. She said we'd be hearing back shortly. Well at least the nerves about the interview are over but here comes the nerves about acceptance letters!
