abington hospital dixon school of nursing

Published

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone out there has applied to early admission for fall 2010 to abington hospital dixon school of nursing?

Yes A&P II is a tough course to take during summer but I have known people to do it. Don't rush yourself though, you rather get good grades and understand everything then get a poor grade trying to rush to get everything in. Do they offer Microbiology over the Summer, I personally thought Micro was easy and that might be a consideration to take that over the summer??

Yes definitely get the study guide for the Teas it was well worth the investment it completely prepared me for what was on the test. I did all the tests in the book then did the online ones and read the book twice! Obviously I did well cause I got in..hehehe. But I get nervous with tests so when I saw the test , it all looked familiar to me and I didn't stress out.

Any other day folks here? See you all soon!

Hi Gina,

I think you are the Gina in my micro class. If you are this is Joanne. Joey is my nickname. Let me know if you are not Gina s.

Got all my books today, seen my doctor, scheduled my CPR class and my chart review at Abington...I am feeling accomplished. Even though there is still a long list that needs to be completed still...haha. Haven't decided what I am going to use as my PDA...kinda want an IPhone. I'm so excited about Dixon! Next weekend is when we can register for N100 and order our uniforms I believe. It says that you can call or e-mail starting May 1st...but it's a Saturday. What day is everyone else choosing?

Prncesslaur,

If you are getting the iphone wait til June, the new platform is coming out and from what I'm hearing its going to be the same price. Supposedly its going to make the older models basically obsolete (not sure how....). I ended up going with the itouch 64mb, unfortunately my itouch was only an 8, but I'm going to pass it down to my son I guess. My phone isn't due for update til next year so I figured if the itouch wasn't working out for me I would upgrade my phone to the iphone, because with the iphone you also have to have a data plan which is a killer in price for the iphone its not just the normal data plan and I dont want that added expense every month. Just some things for you to think about...

As for N100 the only day I can really do is Sat because i also work full time and would have to take off for any of the other days and worry about my kids also getting home from school. Im getting excited too, and feeling like things are moving right along. I love checking things off on the list though as I'm going along..haha.

hi mommi97 and princesslaur!

i also am going to purchase the itouch because i have tmobile and dont wanna have to switch cell phone carriers.

I am hoping to get into the saturday class for n100, because i also work full time and can't make any of the other classes. since the !st is a saturday i guess we will have to wait till monday to register, i highly doubt anyone will be there saturday!

I'm also sooo excited that things are moving forward! I'm just like you when i can cross something off the checklist I get so excited! haha

I agree with you about the IPhone...I really want one, but don't want the extra monthly expense of it. I can't afford anything extra right now. I might just go with an IPod Touch...I read the document they had about PDAs vs Smart Phones and both had good points. My phone I have currently is a Blackberry. I think I could use that even. But I've been thinking about keeping my phone for my phone and getting somethine else for school. Instead of having everything on an IPhone...because if I lose my phone, I'd lose everything. My sister goes to Gynedd for nursing and she uses her IPod Touch (16G) and loves it. So I might just do that. Are you calling May 1st to schedule for the class or e-mailing them? Are they even there on Saturday's? I am getting so excited!!

It looks like everyone is going for the Saturday class. I also work full-time and have a lil one. So that is the only class I can do. What kind of shoes is everyone looking into getting?

I am going to wait to call because I want to be certain I am registered and my email doesn't get lost somewhere along the way. I have ATT as my carrier but still went with the Itouch, just don't want to pay more monthly. Haven't gotten the chance to look for shoes yet but what stethoscope did everyone get??

I haven't gotten that yet either...been debating on that as well.

I ordered my stethescope. I asked a few nurse friends and they all had the littman II classic. When I went for my physical, my dr had the littman II classic also and said that was a good one to get. She also had it in the orange color I was contemplating getting, so I ordered mine in orange.

Also, would any of you be receptive if I set up a facebook page for dixon 2012 nursing students to help us chat about all our questions, school work help, study groups, ect? I think it would be easier for us all to chat this way.

What do you all think?
