Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone out there has applied to early admission for fall 2010 to abington hospital dixon school of nursing?

Hi I am new to this site. I read it often but just finally dcided to join. I am on the waitlist for the evening program 2010. Does anyone know when they start sending out letters to waitlist people? Thanks for your time and good luck to everyone!

I think it starts after whether they have received the applicants deposits or not. If someone doesn't send it in within the time frame they may get replaced? Or if people do accept and then change their mind to go somewhere else. So it could have started in March and probably ends in July. Because the programs start in August.

one of my friends started last august and she was on the waitlist and wasnt notified until 3 weeks before classes started and had to do all the health exams and homework in that time frame! So they could possibly make u wait a few more months! I know how frustrating it is to wait to hear from them! Hang in there!!!

Damn, that was probably tough... I just gave my opinion about what I thought they did. Didn't know they could let people know only weeks before it starts.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering. THanbkfully I was already accepted to Harcum but I was just wondering in case I'm faced with a decision to make. I know that Dixon has a better reputation but Harcum is only 18 months and 3 days a week. well see. I guess I 'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Thanks again.

Hi all. I have not been on here in a while but I got a call Friday that I was accepted from the waitlist! I am looking forward to meeting you all! I am waaaayyyyy behind the 8ball now with this last minute acceptance. I am supposed to get an email with my acceptance letter and instructions etc. I know I have to get a physical and STILL fill out financial aid docs ( really did not think I would get in for fall e/w). I think they registered me for the July 14th NP class and then the orientation. Can anyone give me a quick run down of what I should be expect in the package? I see someone commented about homework etc already. Uniforms, shoes, books. I assume all of that will be in this much anticipated email. A little overwhelmed. Anyway, I also saw there is a fb page?? Any info would be great!

Congratulations!!! Yes there is alot to do. The fb page is dixon e/w 2012. That might be a better place to post questions and have them answered quickly. Hope to see you there!

Hi- i am new to this site..

i have sent a facebook request to be a part of this group. I am not currently in abingtons program (was put on the fall 2010 wait list) and now have my application rolled over for early decision for Fall 2011. I just thought if i could be a part of this group, it would help me prepare for whats to come next year.

Thanks in advance!

Name is Kelly Richards on FB btw =o)

will there be a fb page for all of us that got into the fall 2011 class?

Tneo you just have to set one up! That is what me and another member on the board did for our Class of 2012 at Dixon, we met on here and started talking and we both thought it might be easier to chat through Facebook so she made the page and others followed and now everyone is there, and it's a great especially when you need to discuss class and it's private so she only let people that she saw on our roster join. Unfortunately I haven't kept up with it as much as I would like to but its a great way to talk to your classmates and get to know them even before classes begin.

oh ok, now i have to figure out how to make one, and find the other students

Hi I am the other person who made the dixon fb page. You make a group by starting at your own fb page. We reached only some of the people before class here on allnurses and at orientation we spread the word. Then I made flyers to hand out in class to let others know we are there. The staff at the school is very receptive to the group, so they may let you send out an email from the roster. Just ask. Also, I do keep the page settings private so everyone knows they are safe there. We have used the page as a study tool too. As tests get closer, we go to the discussions tab and ask each other questions. If a student answers a question, they post a question. That way it keeps it going. So far alot of us have done this, it really helps for those of us that can't get together for formal study group. The best part about the page....we felt like we knew each other before class even started!

Congrats on your acceptance!!!!
