  1. Good luck and congratulations!
  2. Usually need an order. I like one for people with high bp in beginning of tx. 4 is for cardiac and works well with amputee. The one that looks like a ladder may be 5 is good for diabetics and people who have low bps because it allows time for vascular filling. Its not on all my machines though. Biomed has to program them.
  3. I thought NY pays alot more. I heard of techs making that hourly rate in NY. In Philadelphia DaVita no experience pays 26-28hr. With experience floor nurse goes up to about 38hr
  4. I wouldnt stay there if I had to do that often. I am a nurse and former technician. I loved my tech job but as a nurse dont want to have a full pod and do my nursing work. I wouldnt mind it once in a while but if it was a regular thing id be aggravated. Its physically more strenuous being a tech. I know I did it for ten years. I dont mind having a two patient assignment with my nursing job. I even wind up putting on 4 or five more patients throughout the day to help but I would not want a four patient assignment for three shifts as nurse.
  5. I am an RN and former technician. I've been with DaVita since 2006. Im happy with them. Each unit may be run differently depending on manager. Most nurses will have 1 or 2 patients along with their nursing work. I have utilized tuition reimbursement and received two scholarships from DaVita. I am in Pa. I dont think the pay is competitive but its fair.
  6. Hey I've been looking into this too and I was also wondering the same thing. what schools are the most affordable and offer these types of online programs?
  7. congratulations. i have a feeling our class size will be small. cant wait to meet you!
  8. Thanks guys. I was just wondering. THanbkfully I was already accepted to Harcum but I was just wondering in case I'm faced with a decision to make. I know that Dixon has a better reputation but Harcum is only 18 months and 3 days a week. well see. I guess I 'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Thanks again.
  9. I got into Harcum for the fall day program! I talked to the girl from admissions today and she said they will be sending out letters this week! I am so happy I wanted to cry!
