RN to BSN vs RN to MSN
Hello to all! This is so premature, but I know I want to further my education beyond my associates in nursing. I have been accepted into nursing school (yipee!) and ultimately want to earn my MSN. I notice that there are programs for RN to BSN, BSN to MSN, and RN to MSN. Aside from the obvious difference in the degree that is achieved and the time required in each program, what are the differences in taking the RN to BSN then BSN to MSN versus the RN to MSN? Do you ultimately earn your bachelors while earning your MSN if you go RN to MSN? I guess I'm wondering if there is any type of disadvantage to going straight from an associates to a masters. It seems like you'd be skipping a necessary degree, but I really don't know. I have checked a few different school websites, but I have yet to find a comparison of the two programs and the advantages and disadvantages of both. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

Temple College ADN Fall 2010
I totally understand. I'm practically in the same situation, HESI score and GPA wise, (identical HESI score, and I haven't taken 2 co-reqs, but have done everything else, and have A's in all but one class that I have a B in). Seems like all we can do is pray and hope for the best! Good luck to you!

I'm in a similar situation. I've taken everything except for A&P I and II, and Micro. I start A&P I Tuesday. I have earned A's in everything except for B's in Computer Science (Special Topics) and English Comp I. I don't live in the Temple service area, so I have to make up for that lost point as much as possible with an A in A&P and trying to do the best possible on the HESI. I took the NET last semester when I was going to apply at CTC. Based on what I have been studying, the HESI should be fairly similar, a bit more in depth with math, and more emphasis on medical terminology for vocabulary. I'm just praying and studying. How was A&P for you? I have Professor Simpson in the night class. How much studying did it take to get an A? (Sorry for all the questions, and thanks for taking the time to answer!)

A&P 1 Spring 2010
School starts tomorrow, the 11th for us, but my first day of the 3 hour class is Tuesday. I know my attention span isn't the greatest, and I have to do well in this class, so I'm a lil nervous.

Actually, this is helpful info. I have heard horror stories that most don't get in on their first attempt. Now we have to take the HESI instead of the NET. Did you take any classes other than the pre-reqs?

Hello to all out there! Is there anyone planning to apply, or already accepted to the Temple College ADN program (in Temple, Texas)? I'm applying this semester, and am a bit nervous about how competitive it is. Can anyone shed some light regarding what criteria I need in order to be accepted (HESI scores for math, vocab and reading comp, GPA, and the number of co-requisites completed)? I know this sounds a bit ambiguous, because I know that obviously I need to do the best in everything I can, but I just wanted to get some insight from some people who have recently applied, and their outcomes. Thanks!

A&P 1 Spring 2010
Ahhh, that makes sense! I guess it's to make the grading process a bit easier for the professor. I honestly thought it was something like a tape recorder type device. I thought, why pay $50+ for a tape recorder?!? I can find one way cheaper than that! Then, I looked online for a clearer answer for it's purpose and just got more confused. You've definitely cleared that up for me, the bookstore staff couldn't even tell me what it's for. Have you already purchased one? My school sells them for $54.00, and from what I saw online, that's a bit overpriced. Wal-Mart needs to expand to collegiate school supplies! Thanks!

Does anyone have to use something called a PRS clicker in their class? We are required to have one, and after checking online, I have no clue what this thing is used for. Can anyone shed some light on this?
