A thread for those awaiting decisions...

Published

I just thought i'd make a thread for those that are eagerly awaiting to hear decisions from the applications they have made for 2009!

I applied to 7 schools for mostly direct entry MSN programs, i got rejected by one so far :( i hope it's not a trend that'll continue :/

Lets hear about which schools you all applied to! :)

Oo I found a thread perfect for my situation. Thanks for starting!

I planned on applying to as many schools as possible, but applied to Hopkins first, and got denied--but it took a while, so all the deadlines are passed now. So I only made it in for Michigans ABSN. And also OHSUs OCNE (3 years).

I doubt I'll get into Michigan, since theyre already putting everyone on the waitlist, and they havent even processed my transcripts. SIGH. And I'd rather not spend 3 years getting a BSN, when I can just do it in one.

I'm starting to study for the GREs, so I can apply to more programs next year, and maybe even ABSN/MSNs. (I just dont have a speciality I'm ready to committ to yet.)

Denial isnt so bad, but I just dont want to get delayed another year. Im not getting any younger here! Help!

Yikes! I just wrote a paper on the DNP. I can't figure out if I'm for or against it.. LOL... I think it makes me nervous thinking we may have to get it in the long run... I was hoping to be done w school. hahaha

Just an update - I found out last week that I was accepted to Columbia University (ETP for midwifery/women's health) and found out today that I was accepted to OHSU (ABM for midwifery)!!!! I'm especially excited about OHSU. Their midwifery program looks amazing.

oOo congrats!! which one will you chose?

Thanks! I'm not sure yet. I'm also still waiting to hear back from UIC and Vanderbilt. OHSU is definitely my top choice. I think their program would be a great fit for me. And my husband and I would both love to live in Portland. He's looking for jobs in cities where I've applied to schools, so depending on how that meshes together, we'll see where we end up. But hopefully at OHSU!

I just heard from Yale, I was accepted to the Oncology NP program!!! Anyone else out there considering this track at Yale?

For those of you who are waiting to hear from Seattle University's APNI program, I had my interview today and gleaned a little bit of information regarding what is going on. They received about 200 applications for admission this year. From those 200 about 95 were selected for interviews. Interviews should be completed next week and a final decision regarding acceptees will be made in the first part of March.

My interview went well, so I am a happy camper. :yeah:

I think all of the program are getting many more applications this year. I was in email contact with MUSC and they said they have been inundated with applications for their brand new DNP program. Thy have many many more applications than they anticipated (she didn't give me a number). MUSC is in a hiring freeze, and they could not fill their department vacancies, and don't have enough staff to help them go through all the applications. She also indicated that they don't know how many they are going to accept, because they cannot hire faculty either. Bottom line, it is going to take a while.
