Hi Readers,
I wanted to address a few things after reading the responses I received from my first article: " I failed out of nursing school... Appealed and WON!! Some were comical, most of them were critical, many were rude, but a few were really sweet and I appreciate the kind words.
Everyone has a right to their opinion, and I understand that I may have offended many of the readers, however again that was not my intention. I apologize and I hope that I straightened out a few issues. ALSO I want to shout out to the HATERS.... THANK YOU!
Sincerely,
JB The "OP" :)

This isn't helping your case.
Yes I didn't fail a nursing course & there's a difference between the people who do & don't fail nursing classes. There are rules in place in a reason. If & when you do pass the NCLEX you'll realize why.
I don't really see what the meme has to do with your answer, but whatever. The majority of the class was able to meet the minimum standard to pass. What did they do differently than the 11 students who didn't pass?
The MEME was to lighten things up a bit. 19 out of 30 is BARELY a huge amount when 1/3 of the class is unsuccessful. That is unheard of...okay if a few students fail 1-2 then it was probably because they either didn't grasp the concepts that were taught or they didn't put enough effort into their studies. But when 11 out of 30 students fail...something doesn't add up. I wish I knew how they passed, I do know for a fact no one passed flying colors and that there wasn't a single A... Hmm? but we had students who've never made below an A in their life fail the class. What do you think?

Well what do you think when multiple CAMPUSES failed that test? No one went to the dean to appeal. I mean we talked to our professor who was in charge (above the one who left) about how much it sucked but we were all adults about the situation & moved on from it. No one went to the dean & said we need to drop this grade, it's unfair. There were FOUR campuses affected! I know on our campus not many passed & no one made an A. But we moved on from it & studied harder for the next test.
My ex best friend actually made a B in nursing school. She is brilliant, super smart & that was her second bachelor's degree. It happens! Nursing school is hard!

Sounds like my nursing program and almost every other one in my area. A bunch of formerly straight-A students barely passing each semester. No As, a few Bs, and mostly Cs, with many of those Cs barely making the cut. We lose some students every semester, We graduate in 9 days, and we have less half of out original class. What you are describing is far from "unheard of."
To LadyFree28,Thank you for your kind words and advice! I can't believe people are interested enough to read both of my posts or even care to comment and the view count... unbelievable!!
- Best Wishes, JB :)
Because this is a forum where we discuss (most of) the posts that are posted by members; we are free to discuss and have lively debate, whether it is the worst smells that we have smelled to safe ratios and entry to practice and any and many controversial and important issues that happen as nurses.
To blackbettyLPN & OrganizedChaos,
I think we all can agree that nursing school is hard. Regardless of whether it's a ADN, BSN, or LPN program. Sounds like we all have struggled and instead of tearing each other down we should be building each other up. I wish you both nothing but the best! Oh before I forget-- OrganizedChaos, I hope you don't let your license expire. Best of luck!
Best Wishes, JB
