A/P II in summer with another gen ed??

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

So the girls I go to A/P I are not taking II in them summer because they tried to take A/P I last summer, and dropped it, which is why they are attempting it again with much better luck. The teacher we have is amazing, she really knows her stuff and how to explain it. She isn't teaching in the summer. I have no choice but to take it in the summer because I have till Fall of 2012 to complete my sciences as I will starting the Nursing program that semester. So it's A/P II in summer, Chem in Fall and spring, the Micro next summer. Our summer semester is 16 weeks condensed into 8 weeks. Im so scared now because I feel I have no choice but to take it PLUS I was looking into taking either Sociology Family and marriage or a History prereq along with my A/P II. Am I nuts for thinking of doing this all in the summer? I also work full time and have a 9yr old. Any advice??

I did AP 2 with an intro to art class (online) last summer. worked full time and my son was 3 at the time. Got A's in both classes. Only you know what you can handle. I say go for it though.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think I can do it..these girls really worried me, Im a really good student and HATE to get anything lower than a B! Im doing good in A/P I right now..love it actually but I think its the teacher too, she really makes everyone understand the material. I figure its just 8 weeks of hell! haha. I can do it..I just am scared I wont get the most of it since its a quick semester.

An 8 week science is going to be a challenge. You could probably manage it with another general education class and be okay though. Good luck.

I would NOT recommend a 2nd class with a condensed summer session. I had started in Ohio on quarters with a full summer and moved to Florida for a year and began semesters, my first being a condensed summer session. 6 credit hours was considered fulltime I believe.. I took 2 classes and was so overwelmed it truly was as if I was taking 4 classes.. We had twice as much work each week, we flew through stuff so fast no one could keep up.. A&P is already pretty intense so I would focus on that one class unless it was being taken during a regular length term.. just my opinion. I am taking an A&P bridge if I get one of 16 seats back here in Ohio for spring quarter, this class is 6 credit hours which is half time. I really need to repeat my Algebra which wont transfer so I can take my Chem 100 and Chem110 in time for the application for clinicals Feb 2012. I have other classes to do also but feel that this intense anp bridge course with a 5 credit hour Algebra class, single mom of 4 and working, I will have to really have my schedule down and take it extremely serious no free time really ..

only take the ap class since yu will have a lab to go with it,, you REALLY need to do well in this class to get into nursing school. i did a summer class where we did it all in four weeks and the class met from 730am to 1130 pm four days a week and it was hard to get an A in that class since i had to work also. but summer school is good to pick up science classes like ap and micro
