I don't always get sucked into a jet engine ... But when I do, I use ICD-10 code: V97.33XD.

My brother temporarily had this Dx in the late 80s

I have a theory that half the ICD-10 codes exist because someone took the complaints that sometimes there just wasn't a specific enough code for a situation, got a little too passive-aggressive, and sat down and wrote ALL THE CODES. For everything, ever.
I'm a little in awe that someone got paid for this. Multiple someones.
A little annoyed it wasn't me.
I showed a coworker here in Admitting at our hospital some of my personal favorite ICD-10 codes and she was 100% convinced it was a humor website.
I don't have the link handy, but Google "Struck by Orca" in conjunction with "ICD-10" and there's an amazing group of artists who have illustrated some of the more bizarre codes.

Me and the office girls were looking at the new codes. When we got to this one we wondered when Lady Gaga was coming to town.

Well maybe she contracted an infection from her raw meat outfit? LOL. Bizarre and potentially dangerous.

Well I worked urgent care this past Sunday.
Had to find the codes for "contact with lawn mower, powered, initial encounter" vs non powered
And for "fell off skateboard,"
Yesterday it was: tripped over hose while pumping gas, I could not find one specific to that, I'm sure it is not the first time someone tried to jump over the gasoline hose. Good thing we have in-house biller/coder.
At allergy clinic: ethanol induced urticaria, no ICD 10 for this but there was for solar induced urticaria & for hot/cold induced urticaria which this pt had all 3.
