Ok, no one has started this yet, so I guess I will. I start A&P I on January 18th, lab and lecture.
Here are a few good websites I have found...some are basic, some may be more indepth than your instructor asks for.....BUT it gives you a little more to look over before class starts next month! :) ....Never forget the website for your actual book too!!!!!!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU

Thanks, Einsteinboi, for the encouragement. I'm glad you have Spring Break to study. I think I am supposed to study the nervous system during Spring Break, but I'm actually going scuba diving (how wicked of me, first vacation in a year).
I have the flu, if you can believe it, now. The irony is that I can now say that I know the names of all the muscles in my body that ache...
About liking or disliking instructors (sorry I've forgotten your name/handle), I'm grateful to have a really good and approachable instructor this time around. I'm happy for you, too.

Oh no CAG! I hope you are better for tomorrow! It was good meeting you the other night. How strange that I had just read your post that afternoon, and then we met that evening. Sorry I was so talkative, I think I had too much cafeine!
Does anyone have any good tips for figuring out antagoinsts and synergists? Do you just have to rememer what the actions are, and compare? My test is tomorrow morning, so it's kind of late to ask, but I thought I would anyway. I have to get an A after totally bombing the midterm on Monday.
Heather
CAG: Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Get better soon!!!
Heatherp: We're not even to antagoinsts and synergists yet. So, I don't even know what you're talking about. lol Sorry to hear about your bombing the midterm. Lots of luck to you, and lots of meaningful studying too!
We still don't have our 1st lab exam grade, but with a 5 point curve on the lecture test, I made a 100!! :)
I'm so excited!!
Good luck everyone!!!!!
Fun2Care,
100%? That's truly amazing. Congratulations.
Thanks everyone for the get well wishes.
Heatherp, I've been working on memorizing insertions/origins/actions today, and I've been writing lists of synergists and antagonists, just to organize them in my mind. This is not a brilliant study method, but I'm just trying everything I can. I'm also trying to think "logically" about it and, as you and I discussed while we were waiting for open lab to open on Tuesday night, flexing/estensing my muscles to see what does what.
My methods are not money-back-guaranteed!
It's a good thing the cadavers have been fully sterilized with formaldehyde and phenol, or I would be a health care menace. As it is, I'm probably not going to make a lot of new friends tomorrow breathing all over my classmates. They were very gracious yesterday in lab, while I dripped and sneezed and coughed all over them, though.
Heather, best of luck to you tomorrow morning!
Everyone else waiting for grades, I hope you get good news.
Well, I got two things to tell ya'll. First I got over 100% with the bonus pts for the second lecture exam in a row. Second, we have been looking for a house for a couple months now and couldnt find anything that suited us. Well, we finally found a house. Original plan was to rent until I got out of school and then buy. Well, this house kind of fell into our laps and we just found out tonight that we got approved for a mortgage. I am just so excited I am about ready to jump out of my skin. LOL Hey maybe that wouldnt be a bad thing then I could get a head start on the muscles HEHEHE. Anyway, just wanted to share the exciting news. We should get the keys in about 45-60 days because we still have to close and the sellers still have to find a house to buy. What is so awesome is that the mortgage company is paying for the closing cost and the sellers have agreed to take $10,000 bucks less for the house so we can show a 5% down payment. Sometimes I feel like I'm dreaming!!!!!
Thanks for listening to me go on and on hehehehe. Congratulations to all who got great grades on their test. We are all so proud of each other. I love forum!!!!!!
Congrats nurse2be2007, on your grades, and your house!!!
Thanks, CAG! :)

This is what I've been doing today too. I just thought there might be an easier way to figure out the synergist and antagonists. Well, off to put the kids to bed, and to more muscles. The _______ starts here, and goes to there, and it does this. And, ________ helps it, and _________ is an antagonist. Over and over and over. LOL
Good luck to you CAG...only good luck in the afternoon for you right? I'll be there at 7:30, even though my test isn't until 9:30.
Heather
Congrats to ALL of you who are doing so well! 100%'s are AWESOME!!!!
We certainly are a smart bunch here aren't we?????
I find it interesting how each school splits A+P I + II. What are you all going to cover in A+P I?
Here's our rundown

Hey CAG12345, Get well soon. I got a bad viral infection and it knocked me down for the entire week before my lab exam, so I can sympathise. I hope you're well enough to enjoy your scuba diving. Have fun! . I will think of you and all the muscles you'll be using as I study.
Congrats to ALL of you who are doing so well! 100%'s are AWESOME!!!!We certainly are a smart bunch here aren't we?????

We lost about 25%, too.
On the other hand, there are some students who want to transfer to my class from other campuses, because their professors aren't teaching well.
I am lucky; I like my class and my professor. :)
