A&P 1 Summer 2012 Check In

I'll be registering for my Summer classes tomorrow. And yes I will be taking A&P 1 and it's lab. I've heard so many horror stories about A&P! But I'm trying to stay positive. I've been a CNA for almost 7 years so maybe I'll be able to apply some of what I've learned to A&P. Anyone else out there A&P 1 or 2 this Summer? Let's get this support group started!

Yes! She is a waitress. I think she was just nervous. She looks really young but she does have her masters:) Wish me luck!

Just bought the binder for my Anatomy book. It was much cheaper to buy the $125 loose leaf version and get a $2 binder than to buy the hard-back edition for $375!

My classes start on Wed. and I have Anatomy first thing in the morning, EVERY morning (except Fridays) for the next 8 weeks. Lecture from 8:00 AM to 9:20, Lab from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

I researched all the A&P professors at my school on RateMyProfessor.com and was able to get the prof I wanted. He had the best, most consistent feedback of all the A&P profs at the school.

I've had the opposite experience. It's the young ones who have CRAZY expectations. They just finished doing graduate work in their field and don't realized that many of their students don't have the same passion.

I am entering week number 3 of my 5 week course. I calculated both lab and lecture grade and am sitting at a 92%, if I calculated everything correctly. I will double check when I find out about my test I took today tomorrow. Anyone else anxiously waiting a test grade and what do you do to not think about it?

I've had the opposite experience. It's the young ones who have CRAZY expectations. They just finished doing graduate work in their field and don't realized that many of their students don't have the same passion.

I agree! We have a quiz every time we meet. She cut the class three weeks so now we have to really rush through things. She talks "biology " language and rushes through.the.chapters. she finally realized.yesterday after the entire class had a blank.look ...im hanging in there:)

Our first class had 30 students. 2nd class, only 16. Today, we're down to 14 students. They're dropping like flies!

We have our first exam on Thursday: body cavities, body systems, cell biology & histology. Our professor said 90% of the lab portion of the exam will be on histology. The lecture exam will be a balance of all topics we've covered so far. People look like deer in headlights when he puts a slide on the screen and asks "what tissue is this?" I'm SO glad I studies ahead of time and prepped!!! I would feel lost if I hadn't done so.

We're starting skin & bones tomorrow!

5 week course isn't so bad. We finish on the 25 O.o I'm sitting at a 91. Not many people have dropped out surprisingly. I got a 100 on the test that my professor said that was supposed to be the lower grades of everyone. I honestly don't know how, and had to ask her to show my test grade again. I didn't believe her lol.

I start my 5 week Physiology summer course on Monday. I've been listening to lectures on iTunes U and reading up on it to get a head start. Good luck everyone!
