A&P in the summer is absolute hell

Yep, sure did. Gotta read and use the tutors. Best thing is, you will have it over in the short term. I'm thinking you are taking the fast course. Live, breathe and read. Make cassette tapes of things you need to remember. You can listen to yourself talk at night when you want to sleep and I guarantee you will fall asleep FAST! Also, I used those tapes when I went running. Didn't always hear what I was saying, but always knew what the tape was about and what was coming up next when I came to, so to speak. So, I guess it was sinking in after all... best of luck.

I dont know if this is better or worse. Im taking Micro first summer session and Chem second summer session ,either way I feel for you..

i dont know where these people are coming up with their ideas that Anat./Phys. I or II were their easiest "A's"... i just had my 1st class of the summer term for AP I and it looks like the longest hellride of the summer. In only 1 chapter, we have over 6 diagrams and concept to memorize.. the sad thing is that, in 2 weeks we have our 1st test that will include about 4 chapters.. sounds tolerable, but if you see how much material is in one chapter-- its ridiculous. did anyone else have the same experience?

I took those as summer courses too, boy, I thought I would die. The pressure was unreal with the amount you had to cram in your brain in a short amt of time. We were really fortunate to have an instructor that would give us extra time after class to get extra help. I didn't think I would pass but I did. All of that was more than 10 years ago but I can still remember the pressure that I felt at the time. Good luck for you, keep your nose in the books and it will be over before you know it!! :)

Oof, I'll be starting A&P in a few weeks. I'll also be managing a project at work (I'm a software engineer) between now and late July. I think I'm in for a heck of a ride.

I that we're using Martini 6th edition, which is of course quite expensive. And I have a 3rd edition here which they'll probably not let me use. I'm going to be in night classes as well, so after a full day of work, I'll be in school from 1740-2140 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm sure I'll be fine.

I took A&P I & II, along with Micro (with the lab, thank you) in one 2 month summer session--at two different schools. Rode the train to the micro lecture and lab.

It can be done. Pay attention, keep up, don't underestimate the power of the five minute study break.

Take care of yourself along the way (eat and rest right), so as not to be undone by wearing yourself out. Laugh at least once a day.

I did it, you can too!

I started A&P 1 yesterday - it's a 6 week course. We do three chapters a week, with unit tests for each.

I would not have normally done it this way, but I just finished Human Bio, so a lot of the basic concepts are already there - this course will just build on them.

After yesterday, I KNOW I will be studying 24/7.

I took A&P I in summer school too. I got an A somehow, but it was really tough. Study, study, study. Then study some more. Carry flash cards with you and look them over whenever you have a few minutes.

Hi, I am in my last week of anatomy and I am using the martini 6th edition, but to be honest with you I barely read it. Are you also buying the lab book? The lab book has alot of good diagrams that are also in the text. My prof. had all are notes on power point and preferred that we did not take notes while he was lecturing, because all we needed to know was on power point. He also told another student that an earlier edition of a anatomy book was fine because anatomy does not change very much over the years. Also he told us not to waste our money on a coloring book. My teacher was tough but fair. I hope this helps.

I didn't take A&P during the summer, but I took it an intensive format during the semester. Like you, we covered 3-6 chapters/week and there were usually 4-6 chapters on one test! Eek! I also worked full-time while taking these classes at night...

I was fortunate in that I didn't struggle much with the class, it all just sort of made sense to me. Lots of my classmates weren't so lucky, though.

I'm sure you'll do fine! Just keep a positive attitude and don't fall behind! Good luck! :)

I finished A&P I this spring semester adn I'm taking A&P II in the second summer session...We used Martini at Tech and I already sold it back! (I needed the $$$$$$!!) so I'm hoping Tarrant County uses a whole other book!!
