A & P 1 2010 sticky thread?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I see there is an old sticky from 2008 A&P and Micro. Can a moderator make one for A&P 1 summer students? That way we can help each other. A few of us have class starting Monday, and it would be nice to have!

Are you able to take your English class online or in a self-paced course at the campus? I know my CC does that. English is DEFINITELY easy enough to take online. (It has the added benefit of not having to sit through a lecture. HA HA HA!)

A&P is a LOT of fun, but HOLY COW it is kicking my rear end! I wish I had gotten everything done in time to take it during a regular semester. Who knew there were so many bones in the SKULL? It's taken me so long to memorize it that I am left with a day and a half to learn the rest of the body. UGH!!!!! Coffee don't fail me now!

I'll have to check for the online class. I am just used to actually "going to school." I'm 35, so when I was in college, that was the only way to take a class.

A&P definitely has a LOT of information to learn! Good luck! :)

If you look at the sticky thread on A&P, there are amazing notes there in pdf format, for almost the entire semester. That is why it is a sticky, due to the huge amount of helpful info... check them out, they are really good!

was it difficult to dissect? I am very nervous about that part.

I had my 1st test on Tuesday but haven't gotten it back yet. It was over the body sections thru the Cell, but it was only 25 freaking questions so even though that doesn't seem hard, and to be honest they werent, I keep second guessing myslef since that is alot of info to take in and so little of it be called upon. KWIM?

I should know my grade on Monday, so we shall see. On a positive not I made a 90 adn 100 on Micro tests!!!!

Good job!!! I'm getting mad at myself because I get 99's and 100's on the quizzes and I got an 82 on my first exam. ACK! But dangit, I know the skull, vertebral column, thoracic bones and upper limb REALLY well now. Onto memorizing the danged lower limbs...

No it wasn't difficult to dissect. But if you're a cat-lover, then you have to get over the fact that you are about to cut into "Fluffy." ;)

I cannot STAND cats...wish I was in your program! lol. (Mostly j/k.) We use a CD from Anatomy & Physiology revealed that is a human cadaver, so I get to see all the veins, nerves, vessels, tendons, etc, etc, etc. It is SO COOL. It freaks my husband and my mom out that I spend so much time staring at a dead man on my computer, but it really helps to see it.

Hey I realize this is nearly 4 years later, but I'm about to take RODP A&P I and noticed you said you made an A. Do you have any advice/pointers/warnings about the course? I want to do my best! Feel free to PM me

Thanks!

Hi Bronze,

..did I say I scored an A? Hmmmm...well, in the state that I live in now, the courses are separate. You take Anatomy, then you take Physiology. I did make an A in Physio, but a C in Anatomy - not because I wasn't interested in Anatomy. I find this subject very interesting. The issue is that there is SOOO MUUUCH TO MEMORIIIIIZE...

And if you have a sucky professor...it makes it worse. So I hope you have a professor who will take the time to answer all of your questions, show you/go over all of the micro-parts of the body repetitively, and who will willingly be available to you so that you have a good/great idea of everything. Good luck!
