A&P 2 and Micro (lecture only) for fall?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Am I crazy for thinking of doing A&P 2 and Micro (lecture only) for the fall? I was told by my advisor to take as many science classes as possible before the end of Decemember to increase my chance for acceptance to nursing school's January application. Classes that I maybe enrolled in for the Spring 07 won't be looked at or considered; only completed classes.

Any input you all can give me would be appreciated!

If it is Lecture only and no lab portion then it is tottaly do-able. As always you gotta have good study habits and with those 2 classes they may make each other alittle easier.Good luck

It would be the lecture only. I can't fit the lab portion in my schedule for the fall semester so I would have to take the lab by itself in the spring.

I study hard and my A&P professor said "You can do it, but maybe not some others". I thought that was so reasuring, he's seen me study my butt off and spend lots of extra time in the lab before tests.

Thanks for the info! :)

How'd you do in A&P 1? Have you succeeded with a heavy courseload before? Do you work or have kids?

I plan to register for A&P 2 and Micro (with lab) together this fall, in addition to a couple of classes I haven't decided on yet. It will be a challenging semester, but I'm confident I can do very well in both classes as long as I'm organized and disciplined in my study habits. I'm taking A&P 1, Intro Chem, Intro Psych and Public Speaking this semester. I don't have kids and I'm living off of loans, and I'm not dating... so I have plenty of time.

So, no, I don't think you're crazy for thinking of doing both. But if you have young kids, need to work more than part time, or haven't done well with heavy courseloads in the past, then it might not be the best idea.

EDIT: Just saw how well you did in A&P 1 in another thread-- take both classes!

This past spring semester I took 18 credits and did very well. I got an A in A&P 1 lecture & lab as well. I don't have kids, I work at a computer lab on campus (which means I can study while I work) about 10 hrs a week and I have a very supportative partner who helps me with my flash cards. I just want some reasurances that I'm not biting off more than I can chew. And I want to finish off as many sciences as I can before application time.

I think it is doable! My Nursing School would not accept a Microbiology or A&P course without a lab so that is the only reason I would not bother.

I just finished taking A&P II and Microbiology this week along with one other course and I did great in all 3 so you should be fine. Good luck.

I took A&P II and Micro with labs at the same time. It wasn't bad at all. I couldn't imagine taking lecture only & then the next semester doing the labs...usually what you're learning in class goes along with what you're doing in lab. If that option is open to you though, then go for it.

Did you take only A&P2 and micro w/labs; or did you take other classes with these two? That's my concern that I am planning on taking other classes too and I don't want bad grades in my sciences. I can drop the other classes if I need to, but I'd like to work on a minor degree too.

I took chemistry and a&p II, both lecture and lab, the same semester with sociology. . . . and I thought chemistry was much harder than micro! 11 credit hours plus 40 hours at work every week. I made A's. It can definitely be done.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, especially if it's just lectures. Labs are always harder to me for some reason.

Good luck!

its do-able I did it, Good luck to you whatever you decide.
