A&P....love it or hate it?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I have loved every minute of my A&P classes and am a little sad that it will be ending soon, although it seems that I can never study enough (to thoroughly learn the material, not just do well on exams). Everytime I review my notes or book, I notice something I missed, forgot, didn't remember, or don't quite understand.

But now, it's time to move on to bigger and better things. Patho's next, just before nursing school. I can't wait!! :)

I loved A&P! I had a lot of fun with those classes - especially the labs (dissections!).

Patho is a really neat class too. I bought a healthcare professional patho book so I can continue to learn, and refresh my memory on familiar topics.

Best of luck to you, in everything that you may do!

Pathophysiology is twice as cool I think. You get a tiny review of the big concepts and normal A&P and then delve into the disease process. It's much more interesting though when you get patients with the disease and get to see it in person. Of course, I feel bad for patients when I take care of them but the conditions are interesting. Good luck!!

I prefer Microbiology. It is hard to learn everything in A & P, lots of memorization.

I find it so fascinating to learn how the human body works, there is SOO much memorization and concepts to understand, it is almost unbearable. Despite that, it is one of my favorite classes.

Looking forward to Pathophysiology and Microbiology in the fall! :-)

I took A&P during an 8-week summer session and got 100. It is a lot of material very fast, but as long as you stay on top of it you will be fine!!!! Are you taking any other summer courses? I was taking two other courses (online, however, which made them easier) at the same time and was still able to manage it without too much difficulty.

I am in A&P right now! Anatomy and physiology are two different classes at my school. I love them! Anatomy is interesting and easy to study for, because it's just memorization. Physiology is more interesting to me, but the tests are every week and they're pure evil! I'm just so happy to be finally taking classes related to my life though! Haha.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE A&P!!!!!! Micro....not quite so much. Still liked it but it felt like a lot more work. I loved pathophysiology too! Sad to see it go, but I'm happy to apply it :D.

Well this is my first time on here but I just received my acceptance letter into the nursing program and I'm so excited!

I can't believe my A&P II is almost over :crying2:. This has been my most favorite class ever, probably due to a great (in my opinion) professor who has a way of explaining things so they stick. I was lucky enough to have her for both I/II, and I'm going to miss her so much. The entire class has been facinating and a lot of work, and I'm sad to see it end. Only one test left, and I calculated today that I need at least a 57 to pass with an A :yeah:. I'm not sure if it's a chicken and the egg situation, why I love this class. Perhaps I love it because I'm kicking butt? I hope she has prepared me well, I'm starting nursing classes next month!

A&P has been my favorite class so far. I loved the material. Loved the fast pace. LOVED my professor!!!! I wish we had 2 classes, but we just had one. Of course, it was a 3 & 1/2 hour a day, 5 credit hour class, but I would have enjoyed another semester.

I have finished A&P 1+2! I loved learning everything, but it did stress me out a little, I am not going to lie..haha. But I must say my absolute favorite thing every week was doing our labs! Yes, I was the person who was excited to dissect the cats. I found it so fascinating to learn how everything works in the body. But I did have to study extremely hard for that class, because my teacher, although she was amazing, gave us very hard tests. But because I had to know practically every little detail for my tests, I now know a lot more information that other students who had taken a different professor.

Loved it so much that I started to tutor it. :D
