How is the wait now? Same, 4 or 5 years? Is BIOL 236 alright to take instead of BIOL 237 and 238? I'm tired of waiting around and just ready to take BIOL 236 then complete the TEAS test. Any tips for the TEAS? I haven't been in school since 2010 and probably rusty on all areas. I also tried BIOL 237 and dropped it once Fall 2012 because it was moving so fast, should I take General Biology again? I got a B in 2008 in General Biology and an A in Microbiology in 2008, so I have no idea why the class moves so fast.

Is Nursing right for me?
What exactly does a speech pathologist do? I'm slightly familiar with it, but not 100 percent sure. Where would I go to shadow all these types of jobs? I'm not sure how to go about asking. Registered Dietitian does sound like what I'm most interested in, but as you can see I'm undecided and all over the place. I worry about there not being enough jobs though for RD. There are many more nursing jobs. Thanks very much for the all the advice. It really helps getting all of your input.

Is Nursing right for me?
Thank you. Is there any way to come to a decision quicker? I don't want to make a mistake and yes, I'm not sure I'm 100 percent in it. Nutrition is my true passion, but the money is not there compared to nursing... Lol... But I want to be happy too. I'm questioning Registered Dietitian because of the one year unpaid internship that is very competitive to get into. I could always become a Physician Assistant later down the line if I wanted more money with Registered Dietitian, right?

Is Nursing right for me?
I'm 24 years old with just an Associates degree in Liberal Arts. I'm single with no children at all. I would only be supporting myself. I already took all prerequisites except Anatomy and Physiology. I did take Anatomy and Physiology 1 and actually attended class two times, but dropped it. I did take General Biology (the prereq) in 2008, but there is so much info in the class and I can't even understand it. It was like a foreign language to me. I took Microbiology and really loved it. I dropped out of the class because 1) The waitlist is four years. 2) Afraid I would fail the TEAS test. 3) Too much info in A & P. 4) Wondering if Nursing is really for me, what if I start the career and decide I don't like it? 5) Nutrition is my true passion, but could I really find a job as a Registered Dietitian and the pay is not as good as good as nursing. 6) The long hours in nursing, 12 hour days standing up all the time and high stress. My aunts are nurses and told me to get anything past a BSN would simply be too much stress. They are burnt out too. I want a career though. Should I be a dental hygienist, xray tech, registered dietitian or for the long road even a physical therapist or pharmacist? The reason I'm drawn to nursing is the benefits, health insurance, plus I do love to help people and make them feel better. I'm quite shy though and wonder if that would be a negative as you have to talk to patients families. Finally, the job situation I hear new nurses not getting any jobs and I do not have a background in health care at all. This is the same for just about all professions I read up on though. What would be your opinion on what I should do? I can never make up my mind and change it every day.Sorry about the one long run on paragraph but I had it separated into four paragraphs or five and it will not post that way.

How do they cut down the wait list? People drop off because they get in sooner? Or People drop out because the program is too hard? What do you use to study for TEAS? How hard is it? When do you take it? After finishing A&P? Is it ok to take the combined A&P BIOL 236?If I were to go for the program, all I need is A&P plus the TEAS test. I'm just scared about not passing TEAS as I've been out of school for a while and I'm terrified of tests.

Is the wait still 4 years or 5 years now? I also am not sure I want to be a nurse. I was thinking something in nutrition, but I hear nursing is more stable.

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
I'm an only child. My dad works nearly everyday of his life. My mom has never worked since I was born, probably longer. My mom basically sits at home all day and I doubt she would even feed herself if my dad didn't bring home food. It is depressing, I like being at home but then again I don't. I've considered going away to school too. My mom influences me to stay at home and do nothing because it is what I always saw. I know I'm getting personal, but it is something that bothers me. There is really no reason to leave since I would essentially be living by myself unless I went out of state to school but I would probably miss home either way. There is a 4 year wait list at the school I like near home, but I could always transfer.

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
I feel like I'm going to do the same thing. I'm not sure. I wasn't even signed up until like a day ago because I wasn't sure about taking summer class. I have no children and no job right now, but I'm still terrified. I worked last year and it just didn't feel right. I just treasure my free time so much. I love cooking, listening to music, watching tv, plus I surf the net endlessly it seems like. I want to make something of myself though. I love nutrition too, so I thought about going for all different careers including Dietitian, Dental Hygienist, and Nursing. I'm still not sure if nursing is the right place for me. Many told me to become a model because I'm very tall and thin, but that is easier said than done. I'm 23 and still don't know what I want with my life. If I don't do anything, I feel like my life has no meaning. I dropped A&P 1 when I attended a week of it before because I wasn't sure if I picked the right career. I'm also scared of the work load and I haven't been to school in 3 years, so I want it to be perfect but the work felt like it was coming quicker than I remembered it coming. I was mainly considering Registered Dietitian but keep changing my mind to nursing, lol. Nursing is better salary and there are so many directions to go if you are not happy. Working in labor & delivery or NICU appeals to me most.

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
Two tests a week, right? Since there is lab test and lecture test, oh boy....... lol. I'm on the edge of dropping it. I don't know. I tried taking A & P twice and dropped it because I wasn't sure about nursing. I'm also nervous on taking any tests/quizzes because I haven't been in school in 3 years. I guess I just want an A, I'm nervous that I might end up getting a C on a test. I'm too much of a perfectionist. There is also a FOUR YEAR WAIT LIST at the school I'm taking it at so I just figure oh drop it because I'll never get into the program. I also have to take TEAS test which is nerve wrecking too because I forgot so much basic info since last being in school. Tests make me so nervous, don't you just hate when you studied a term over and over again then you forget it as soon as the test is put in front of you? Then, you try to reach for your notes and know exactly what page it was on but it is too late.

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
Yes, I know which text.... do you have an idea where to buy certain texts for a discount? ....... Do you think it is a better idea to take the 15 week Anatomy & Physiology 1 because I hear it is really hard to retain the info and it might be better as a longer class? I want to be sure. Also, do you have an opinion on if an ASN or BSN is better? I know it is the same pay but some people tell you to push for a BSN since you will get better employment possibilities.

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
The class is 10 and a half hours a week about. 6 and a half hours of lecture per week and 4 hours of lab. This is over 7 weeks. How much should you study? I would guess every minute/second of the 7 weeks? It almost feels overwhelming. Is it more beneficial to take the 15 week version because this will go by too fast and you will not retain as much info? I never had A&P before in my life, but I had General Biology back in 2008 but it's not really fresh in my head. I only received a 3.4 in General Biology, but I had the top grades in the class. There was only like two or three people with better grades. The teacher was hard. However, in Microbiology I got a 4.0 and Nutrition a 4.0 too with the same teacher that is teaching this A&P class. He was not easy but told you what was in the class.

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
Basically, eat, drink, and sleep A&P for 8 weeks straight. How do you memorize? Anything besides flash cards? It is mainly powerpoint slides that we were tested on. I wish I was better at memorization.

Is there a test everyday in 7 week classes?

A and P over 7 weeks during summer
I'm not working now. I also haven't taken a class in about 3 years. Is the summer session too much? I have all the time in the world to study, but I'm not used to not having any free time. I have lots of doubts?
