Hello everyone!
I was just looking for some best practices or ways others studied for their lab practicals? I have taken A&P I, but struggled with them before. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

this will sound elementary, but it worked for me. Purchase a Grey's Anatomy coloring book. Most book stores have them and Amazon does for sure. You have to color in the bones, veins, muscles and label them. If they are complex, copy the page before you color it so you can repeat the exercise. Look for A&P sites online.

I'm not sure if all instructors allow it, but we were allowed to take pictures of all labs. I'd take the pictures and put them on my computer. I'd draw lines to each part/area, left it blank, saved the file. Went back in and filled in the answers and saved as a different file.
Just doing that alone really helped. Doing that was the main thing that helped me remember everything, and reviewing them afterwards just helped it sink in more.
Thanks guys! I have the color book, my professor actually gives you extra credit if you do it. Taking pictures is great as well, I did it for A&P i and it helped some. I really want to get an A in this class so any suggestions are awesome.

I printed off pictures without labels online and just went over them until I memorized them
Had not thought of that one, I will try that as well.

I am going to second the coloring book and pictures/copies. As for labeling, I make sure to practice once a day leading up to the quiz, or test. As I attempt it each time, I cross off the labels I know well and just quiz myself on the ones I don't know as well. This is a new aspect that I've tried this semester and it's working great! It helps me only study the stuff I don't know and every time I go through it, that list gets smaller and smaller. :)
I honestly take the opportunity to talk to others about it as well. If I show my son the picture or talk to him about physiology, he inevitably makes a joke or a comment that helps cement some aspect of the information in my memory.
One last thing I've just started using, is a dry erase marker on my mirror in the bathroom. I know, seems silly, but I can change the information whenever I want and I know I'm guaranteed to spend at least 5 minutes in front of that mirror every day. :)
Good luck! An A is very much within your grasp!!
