I did not see another thread, so I thought I would start one for fellow students to chat and get support. Anyone else taking A&P I this spring?
I really appreciate the support everyone! It was so not like me, I mean, I'm an A/B student always so a C really makes me feel crappy. My professor does not drop any grades but this test was only worth like, 80 something points and there are some points heavy tests coming up, so I just have to well on them! I've been recording my lectures, but not listening to them enough!
Me too!! Although, I think I will get my term paper for lecture out of the way over the break.
Chelsea, I am the same way so I can totally empathize. I am also guilty of not listening to my lectures often. When I do, I listen to them right before going to bed to aid memory retention. I am sure you will be able to bring up your grade, don't stress! And we are always here for support!
Got our grades back today. Professor prefaced with "these are the worst test scores I have ever seen." then he went around the room asking how much everyone studied. He saved me for last. I made the highest in the class with an 87.5 but after adding up all my bonus points I accrued I ended up with a 102.5. He didn't share that with the class but made a point over how much I studied compared to the rest. Only 4-5 more tests left with our next being next Thursday. Over the chemistry of cells, balancing equations and other cell type stuff. Plus a nutrition midterm. I'm glad I'm taking only 2 classes for sure.
Next week we have our lab practical and lecture exams on the skeleton. I'm feeling very comfortable with all the bones/bone markings with the skull, but the thing that worries me is some of the identification of left/right with certain bones. We will not be able to pick bones up and orient them to figure out which direction they should go in, of course, just have to be able to look and know. The femur, humerus, etc seem pretty straightforward to figure out. But I have a hard time with the coxal bone and the clavicle especially. And I wouldn't put it past myself to mix up one of the other ones I think I'm okay on.
Our bone boxes are kind of a jumble - they're supposed to be a half skeleton of ALL the same side, but most of them have mixed parts. So it'll be like a right ulna, left radius, left clavicle, right coxal, etc. It just seems to scramble my brain when I try to put things together to visualize how it's all articulating.
We have one more open lab which I'll definitely be taking advantage of. Wish we could check out bone boxes over the weekend!

You said that you are worried about the clavicle naming right from left. If I remember correctly the "sternal end" goes toward to sternum. The acromial end goes on the outside. Therefore, if you know the difference you should be fine. Although you can't pick them up (which is crazy) you can move your own body around and try to imagine where it would be on you…if that makes sense. Good luck.

Yay! Congrats!! I had mine today and I am so over the moon, especially since I was so anxious I felt like I was going to puke or pass out the whole time I was taking it. I got 104/100!!!!
