A&P I Spring 2007 Semster - Welcome!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I will be taking A&P I next semester when I come back from Christmas break for the Spring 2007 semester. I didn't know if someone was going to start a group or not, so I thought I would create a thread to find those of us who have been "getting our feet wet" and are going to start into the fun stuff during the Spring 2007 semester. I look forward to seeing who all will be feeling my pain!

Anyone know what they are dissecting this semester? We will be dissecting a brain, heart, kidney and lungs. :uhoh21: As of yet, we don't know what type of animal/s.

We usually do Cats. I wish we did human cadavers as you know the cat doesn't look a whole lot alike on the inside as a human. Makes for confusion. :trout:

I'm taking A&P 1 this semester along with 4 Patient Care Technician Courses (at my school you get 4 points toward nursing school and your CNA certification exam paid for if you take this series) and also Stats. Thats six courses but it's going well. Good luck to everyone and definitely put school first if you want to reach your goals!!!

The only thing I have dissected was a frog in high school, and was a little grossed out.

:lol2:

I am starting A&P on Tuesday. I have a very hard professor from what I hear. Does anyone have the human anatomy and physiology by Marieb (7th edition)? With all the additional lab books plus the text, I think I am going to have to buy an extra bag. I don't know if I should be excited or nervous....

oh I hear you. I have the same book and lab book and I have to carry this huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge bag and I am 5"3 and weigh 110 so it looks absolutely ridiculous on me. I get comments all the time but hey it fits my ginormous binder, lab book, text book, coloring book, and purse.

Hi!! I also am taking AP1 and Micro... plus Nutr. Eeekk.. I dont work, but I have a 2 1/2 yr old daughter, and Im 4 months preggo... I can do it though!! :)

This is my first post on this site. I'm taking A&P on campus and algebra and Psych online this semester. (This is in addition to 2 jobs and 2 kids :uhoh21: .) I know it seems crazy but the end justifies the means. So any help will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, we can all work together to make this as painless a semester as possible.

Nice to meet you.

Seems like most most people on this thread are super busy, me included! I guess it must be a theme! I'm taking an all day Anatomy class on Saturdays, work 40 hours a week, have 1 child but she is a handful because she is disabled, plus I'm taking Health Information Technology on-line. Plus I'm going to be volunteering 4 hours a week. Phew! How do we get it all done and get good grades, but we do! Best of luck to everyone. My first class was Saturday and it was good. I like the teacher and I got a lab team already so I'm very happy and I feel like this will be a great semester. :p

first exam already in t minus 1 hour... that's what i get for taking an accelerated class :uhoh21:

more than ready though... but still nervous.

and we have our first lab quiz on thursday....

no rest for the weary :selfbonk:

So its less than two weeks into anatomy and my boyfriend of 2 years is being a jerk, we are on the verge of breaking up, and he's already "burnt out on the whole nursing thing"

ouch today sucks.

I feel like Im really boring now and according to him "not fun to be around" or wait was I "wack?" (oh how smart does he sound)
