Oh man, I know just what you mean, Sarah, and it's stupid but I almost feel like I'm going to fail if I get less than A+ .. in one way it's good to have a high goal but, sheesh, it's only one course and I can't beat myself up over it if I am not perfect (which I will do because I won't be). I also have to watch that I don't psych myself by looking at the whole chapter (esp. the end) but just taking it one paragraph at a time. I really want to understand it all too so I guess that's good and more likely that I will assimilate it if I take my time .. which I don't necessarily have! LOL!Yep, I'm with 'ya Kayel. I am having some struggle, but it's manageable - I just study like mad and devote a lot of time to it. I am having to avoid the "it's sooooooooo hard" stuff myself. I am not used to not getting straight A's though, so that is a little harder to grasp the reality that my GPA might fall a little, but I'm hangin' in there.I think the Chemistry will be the toughest section for myself personally, but we're almost done with that (a quiz is due on Thursday - yikes!) and then I will feel better.
Good luck with your quiz!!!!!! That's exciting in a weird sort of way!!
How is everyone faring? I think it will be ok .. right now I'm wading through the chemical chapter and getting myself up to snuff on the chemistry terms. It was too many years ago!! The prof said we can let him know tomorrow if we feel we need a workshop. I think I will be okay without it but if they run it, I will go!One other observation just about any course in general is that I can't listen TOO much to people's, "Oh that was easy I got an A" or, "Oh that was horribly hard" and just concentrate on my own progress. I think it would be pretty easy to psych onesself out to either extreme!! I'm trying to keep my earplugs in with the naysayers especially! Anyone else feeling like this?
Ya, I know what you mean. There's a guy in my class who's taking it for the second time. He's always saying "This class is easy", I'm like yeah, then how come you didn't get an A the first time. He's really working my nerves.

I'd ask him! Some people are annoying. lol
Nursecadet: There's a bunch to learn on the skull, but you can do it!!!!! :) Good luck!
UGH...Just starting on chapter 5.We have to do chapters 5,6,7 this week.We have a lab quiz on thurs (on histology)I thought I knew them by the books pic.Instructor had them on the microscope today...I couldnt ID half of them!!I want to study them...but then I will get behind with the bones.

I am wiwth you 100%. Don't worry about what other people say or do...can you believe someone in my class called me a "Nazi" because I am of German heritage?
WHAT???? No, that is incredibly rude and wrong. What was their point anyway or was it just one of those conversation things that go astray? Some people need to eliminate the word from their vocabulary entirely because they do not know what it means.I am wiwth you 100%. Besides, it's cool to be German (speaking of which: me LOL). Our ancestry is mostly/partly (lol) German but at least 4 generations into Canada and U.S. What about you?

Thanks! I'm glad I'm not the only one out there who thinks the world will end if the A+ goal isn't reached. Yeah, I've got to quit obsessing about that myself. Thanks for the luck on the quiz, I think it helped - I ended up with a 90% - not quite my goal, but it will work. Hopefully I will be able to pull back up out of that now that we're out of the Chemistry section. Who knows though - next section is on cells - it sounds like fun, but looks about as confusing. :chuckle: I'm excited though.
I hope everybody is doing smashingly in their classes to date and all is well and happy in A&P I land.

I grew up in Germany and have an accent so I draw attention. I have been in the Us for about 20 years, got citizenship in 1991. The comment was during one of those conversations gone astray. By an African American person....The reason is probably that he is young, uneducated and immature. Next time I will set him straight though. He is in college now.....needs to grow up. Besides the college has a policy against things like that and I hope that it will not happen again. I won't let it continue. I am a good student and work hard, maybe he is intimidated and sees me as competition because he stated to me that he wants to make an A in this class and that I am 'cracking him up' It's not the frist time I encountered direct hostility about my nationality from a black person, In the past at a different college I had a black female go off on me about 'foreigners coming here and getting money for college etc". little did she knkow that I paid for the darn class myself. Makes you wonder what's up, I am sick of such things. I continue to be nice and civil, and won't sink to anyones level. This person wants to get into nursing?????? I will study hard and I am reminding myself that I am in that class for me and me only.....Nobody can take my transcript and GPA away from me. Grades do matter in the selection of applicants and I have a good GPA, definitely competitive.

That is so wrong. People should be quiet if they don't have anything nice to say. One day an older African American man came up to me and started to go on and on about how the "people from the Islands" come to the US and take all the jobs, and cause so much trouble blah, blah etc.... I let him go on for about 10 minutes then pointed out to him very nicely, that I myself am from Trinidad, so is the rest of my family, and that to my knowledge I didn't take my job away from anyone in particular. Well, he didn't have anything to say after that. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
