A&P I: Fall '05 Anatomy & Physiology Club

So, I'm in! I've got this and College algebra and I'm DONE with all my pre-reqs and related courses. I dropped this this past Spring, so I know how hard it is. Hopefully I'll have a better instructor this time that actually knows how to teach the class. :rolleyes:

I'm starting totally fresh at 41. It's a real laugh too because my Comp I A still sticks after 23 years! I'm taking A & P I, General Biology and Chemistry, Interpersonal Commun. and music. I decided to go ahead and take the bull by the horns and take 14 hours. :p

Wow, you really are taking the bull by the horns! I have my schedule planned out so that I only take one science class per term. I have found that college is alot easier now that I am older, 32, then it was when I was 18/19. I have found that to be true for alot of the other middle aged people I have met in class.

Thought I should join the club, I am taking 2 night classes and 2 online classes. My A & P I is 2 nights a week for 2 hours, then I have Psych. 1 night a week for 3hrs, also taking Nutrition which I am half way done with, have an A in the class, and Music App. I am so scared to start A & P, I have heard such awful things about how the class is so hard, but I am willing..I start Monday!!

I also start A+P I in the fall. I'm strangely excited. My friend and I have decided to make a game out of it. I'm sure its been done but we are going to blow up a nice detailed picture of a whole person, of course with every possible bodily organ/bone/extremity etc. showing.... and we will make a dart game out of it. Name whatever the other hits.... hell might as well make studying fun.... I need to get an A+ !

I'm taking A&P I this fall too!! I'm really nervous because everyone keeps telling me how hard it is. I guess I'll be studing my butt off this semester. I needed another class to get loans for this semester and since my last prereq is A&P II (I'll take it in the Winter) I took bowling....that should be interesting since I stink at it...but it should be fun!!

Well tomorrow is the big day! A&P 1 is my first class then on to algebra. I am so nervous about this! lol...... but i am sure i am not alone. I have a friend that took A&P and she told me as long as i read and used the CD that comes with the book, and did the self tests at the ends of the chapters, I would be fine. :uhoh3:

Well, Grandma (me) is taking A&P also this Fall. I studied hard and got an A in Human Biology, but have heard that A&P is a whole new ballgame. I saw the anatomy coloring books at the bookstore yesterday (Barnes & Noble) and am planning to get one - I think it will be a big help. Best of luck to all of us!

I haven't seen the coloring books. that is a good idea. I am a visual learner and the more visual aids I use, the better.

On the subject, I am all happy because I just ordered my A&P text book, which is being sold for $156 at my college bookstore, for $101 on Ebay. :balloons: I have found my lab book discounted down to $77 from $98, but for some reason I feel hesitant about the seller.

I'm sooo glad I found this topic on this wonderful site. I'm about to start taking my pre-req's after many Many years. I want to take as full a load as I can handle while working too.....so pray for me!!

My anatomy 1 orientation is on Monday.Its an online lecture,but I have a lab T/Th from 12:30-1:50.

I took an algebra class online last semester and got an A(using ALEKS). Im not a math person by far,but did well with independent study.

I have all the other prereq classes out of the way.Now...its time for the big 3(antatomy,physiology and microbiology)I have a 3.85(would have a 4.0 if it wasnt for that darn psch1 summer class:(

Im taking yoga with anatomy this semester.I see too many times people try to smash tons of classes together and they screw up on the science courses.We have a lottery system at our school.However,they require a 3.0 GPA in the sciences.If anatomy goes well this semester,I will add anthro 2 with physio next semester.

I have all my books ready for anatomy.I have Martini

I saw last semester the "anatomy 1 club" were going about the same pace in the textbooks.I hope we all can lean on each other when times get tough.

My three children know its time again for mommy to go bananas!

Went really well! I can't believe how many students were trying to add the class. I felt so bad for them, so many turned away.

We have our first quiz tomorrow, it will be on the major bones, body organization, lab safety...

My kids are running from me.. when they get near me, I touch their body to feel their bones and tell them the proper names. :) Looks like everyone in our home will be learning anatomy

How was everyone else's first day?
