A&P 1 Fall '06 Club!

Just wanted to start a "club" for those of us who are taking A&P 1 this fall.

My class is 16 weeks. I have lecture on M/W/F for one hour each day and lab on Tues for 3 hrs.

My teacher for lecture & lab (same person) is awesome! She gives us a weekly quiz, drops the lowest one. Gives us extra credit. Four major tests. Final is comprehensive. (Ick)

She gave us handouts for chapter 1 and we just fill in what we want as she pretty much has everything she wants in these handouts. She told us we don't have to bring our big, heavy book to class - she'd tell us page numbers of tables, pictures she wanted us to know. As a matter of fact - she said we don't have to use the book that was sold to us for this semester. She said we could use any book like Saladin, etc., and make copies if any diagram, table is different. Pretty nice there.

Okie dokie - who else?

i have to write a paper in my anatomy class, and any information or sites that you might know of that will help me with this would be great!

i have to describe in chronological order, the anatomical structures (bones, joints, muscles, nerves) that are involved with these tasks and how they work together to accomplish your assignment movement. my movement is to reach out and turn the doorknob.

Hi guys its been a long time since i post. I just found out last week my professor had to undergo a quadraple conoray artery bypass. So he will not be coming back to rest of the semester. I am so freaked out, i don't know what to expect from the new instructor. :confused: Please keep me in your prayers and wish me luck so far i have a C average, and I have not gotten my last test score back, we have two more test and a final left and I have a B average in lab which is 30% of my final grade.

Hi everyone,

now that we are coming to a close how is everyone doing?

We have this week off but I have a lot to study for. However I did manage to take my final exam already. we are given a boat load of work and a certain day to complete it by we have until December 8. I still have my Cat discetion to complete, muscle practacle, cadaver practical and an exam on 3 chapters reproduction and human development. I have a plan of finishing up my muscle stuff this week and I will try to go into school and take the muscle exams next week then just focus on cat and cadaver for our last weekend of school. Then the final day I will take the last unit exam. On top of that I will be working on my Chemistry class too I have an exam tuesday and then just the final to study for.

Anyone going on to ap 102 this spring? I am taking that and micro or I am going to try anyway, so then I can be all done by the end of spring with my prereq.

All we have left is our exam on the urinary and reproductive systems. I am taking it online, however, and my professor has yet to put half the lectures online. The powerpoints are there, but the lectures aren't...so I e-mailed him, and received a "I'll look into that over the weekend..." terse response. And now it's Monday, and he still hasn't fixed the website. Grrrrrr. It's just irritating, b/c I wanted to get a lot of it out of the way before Thanksgiving, and now it means I'll definitely have to spend some of next weekend studying. Oh well, and yes, I have the same guy for A&P II next semester. Good luck to everyone on their finals!

We're taking our Muscle test tomorrow (Tuesday). Then our final is on Dec. 7....so we have two class periods to learn two chapters on the autonomous

I'm crazy nervous about tomorrow's muscle test! Back to studying :)

hello everyone, its been a while since i last posted its been really busy for me with work and school. since we last talked our professor had to go out for any emergency open heart surgery, we just recently had to get a new professor for lab and lecture i don't know how i did on the last test before he went out, and we have a test this coming tuesday with the new teacher. everything is brand new now. i really need your prayers this is the last time i can take this class. i wish everyone well as this year continues to wrap up. hope your holiday was a good one.

OK guys, I'm just now coming up for air! It has been a long time since I posted. My prof. moves at a train wrecks pace. We finished muscles what seems like months ago. We are now in the special senses. For the moment I have an A! Yet, I still have 2 tests to go. On the bright side we do not have a cumilative final.

I have never worked so hard in a class in my life. I already have a BA in education. A+P is the hardest class I have ever taken.

hi guys! my name's Jen...i just was searching around and found this forum!

I'm in A&P 1 this semester and its kicking my butt. Its not that I dont understand and love the material, but my teacher is absolutely ridiculous. off of 150 pages of material from all the sections on basic nerves, CNS, PNS, and ANS, he would just pick one SPECIFIC thing like...the length of post and preganglionic nerves...as the subject of like, 15 different questions. I just felt it was so unfair...instead of testing our basic knowlege of all the major concepts, he just picked out like, 5 random ones...which didn't even match his study guide, nor did they even go along with what was stressed in class. How was i supposed to know to focus on something like thaT? geez.

oh well. hope everyone else is doing well!

This semester has gone by so fast for me! I have 3 more classes but lots of work due. I am going in tomorrow and will finish up labeling my cat and do my muscle practical. We don't have class until friday but we can do work on our own and ahead of time. I have taken my final exam already but after this week will only have one more unit to study for. I will be happy to have a break for sure!

5 more days of Class, and I still have an A 94, but I am really worried about my big lab final its over: Muscles, The Brain, CNS, PNS, Special Senses, and everything from before the midterm so Cells, TISSUES, integumentary system, and bones! I am not worried about anything but Tissues and Muscles, but I have a 98 in there so I have a little wiggle room.

I am doing really well in my AP 1 class too I have 3 more things due and 4 more official class days, I'll get most of it out of the way this weekend with one more exam the following weekend. We are allowed to take things ahead of time and I got most of my work done except the dang Cat muscles its been my nemisis the past few months.

I look forward to my 6 week break, I start up again 1/23 with AP 2 and Micro. I just signed up yesterday it will be my last pre nursing classes.
