where are you from

Hi! I just joined last night and really enjoyed reading the threads! I have a few questions. Where is everyone from? I am fro. Louisiana, work in the public school system. Are you a member of NASN? Will you be attending conference in June?

Are you a member of your state School Nurse organization?

Specializes in family practice and school nursing.

NY here. I just belong to our regional organization. Haven't joined others mostly for time constraints and finances. I do subscribe to the statewide health services organization and receive a lot of information from them.

I'm in NJ. I am a member of NASN and the NJ School Nurse Association. I don't think I'm going to the NASN conference although it's not far from me so I've considered going for the day.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was fortunate to attend the NASN conference in San Antonio last year and am waiting to hear if I will be attending this year. My district pays for 4 of us to attend. I strongly encourage you to attend conference if you have the opportunity. I learned SO much last year!

I'm in Oregon working for a smaller rural school district (elementary and middle school here). I am a member of NASN as well as OSNA. I attended the state conference this year, but will not be attending the national conference (I wish!) because I don't have the funds for that at the moment! 18 more school days!!!

... we will still be in school and then I'm off to Disney!!!

Me too!!! 10 more days of school and then I am headed to the Beach Club!

Another NY School Nurse here. I don't belong to the State or National organizations. We have an amazing website and Student Health resource center in New York so I haven't found the need. I am not attending the conference as we are still in session for school that week.

I belonged to NASN for a year and went to the convention in San Francisco. I also go to the some of the events put on by our state rep. Very valuable resources.

I get more support though from a monthly meeting I attend with public health nurses and school nurses in my district. (These school nurses are almost all members though).

Welcome to School Nursing!
