No need for a ledge. It is not a difficult class, although some find it tedious. Make sure to get a copy of the '20 day plan' when you can get into the class communities and watch ALL the mentor help videos. They really do walk you through it. And buy pipe cleaners at Walmart. :) :) (you'll see why when you get there).

Not really, it's not a 'studying' type of class. There's no test, it's a series of projects that need to be completed. If on facebook, look up the 'WGU RN to BSN discussion' page so you can see what others have said. It's an unusual type of class, so I'm not sure it's possible to get a jump on it. Don't stress! If you don't know how to do a powerpoint, that's one thing you could brush up on - seems that's a sticking point for some. There's videos and several documents that will walk you through these projects.

The introductory section in that class is a basic chem refresher, and as already noted, the resources they provide make it too easy...really. I also agree on just brushing up on Powerpoint or the Google docs equivalent (BTW, the WGU biochem class mentors even have their own walk-through videos for THAT).

I cannot figure out how to join a class community. Any way you can talk me through it?

You can only join the community if you're currently enrolled in the class (although you can ask your mentor to give you access). Otherwise, all the communities for the classes your currently enrolled in will be listed on the home page of your student portal. "Communities" will be found on the center of the page, towards the bottom, and there will be several communities listed.

Biochem has been probably the easiest class I have had so far. Just follow the rubric to a T (I put which section of the rubric each slide was addressing on the slide itself next to the heading) and you will pass. Don't let yourself get intimidated by the volume of what has to be done. The lectures that are recorded are amusing and succinct. Those helped me a lot. The videos done by the Biochem mentors are also good resources. Don't try to reinvent the wheel. At times what they are asking for is so simple it seems like it ought to be more somehow. This is a death trap of anxiety. Take the rubric at face value.

If you don't feel like you are getting the information easily from lecture, book or video go ahead and Google the topic! As long as you cite the source where you got your information (APA format of course) nobody really cares if it came from the WGU provided resources or elsewhere.
