Hi

I would like to travel nurse in California for 13 weeks and maybe more, who knows, maybe up to a year. I am thinking San Diego, Santa Barbara or Oceanside, or even Lake Tahoe. I am thinking of using American Mobile and want to go in mid-November. Is there anyone out there who are thinking of travelling on their own and are like me and want to go with someone? I'm from Canada.

Awww, Winn, I would totally do that, but I am slated to go to Seattle already in mid-September!

Good luck finding someone.

Yeah, I am also in your shoes! Basically I have been thinking about heading to So Cal for a 13wk contract sometime this fall/winter. I live in Connecticut. Are you trying to get away for the snow in Canada? One reason for my desire to travel is to escape the winter here. I have completed a few applications and have been speaking to one recruiter that I really like. Why don't you PM me and we can discuss our interests, backgrounds, etc.?

Hi

Actually, I was thinking of trying to find someone to travel with also, but I have recently signed a contract which is starting in 2 weeks in Charleston, South Carolina. Hopefully, after this one is completed and I do not decide to continue there, I would be willing to travel with a buddy.

That was so awesome that you put it out there, I want to travel in about 6 months and I want to travel with someone, or at least just be able to spend time with someone, anyone, in the same city as me....if i ever end up in cali i will let you know...thanks for putting that out there though, i am going to do the same thing when my time comes to travel.

Im in San Diego right now from upstate NY and I love it here! I escaped the winter and Ive been here since last october. This was my first travel assignment too. So just beware if you really want to travel around.. you may not want to come here first cause you may not go far. But if you do.. ill show ya around!!!

RNNLOVE I am working on starting an assignment in North Carolina/South Carolina. I will probably be staying with my daughter but would love to get together sometime and see the sights, talk, whatever. Charleston is one of my favorite cities. We were there for a few days in March and it is beautiful. If you are interested, send me an e-mail. I should be starting the first part of September.

Blue IIs, I am scheduled to be in south carolina the first week of Sept also, so it would be fine if we could get together and enjoy the sights. If you would like, send me an email and we could discuss it more. I am actually really excited, I was told charleston and columbia are both beautiful places. Looking forward to speaking with you.

Anyone going to be in Seattle area in mid September that would want to have dinner/just hang out from time to time??

Specializes in Cardiothoracic ICU / CVICU / Trauma ICU.

I am also looking to travel to the west coast (possibly AZ) in Early October. I've found some great assignments in different markets and just trying to make up my mind. This would be my first travel assignment so having a buddy could be a positive! I am recently out of a relationship and now have the freedom to travel...at last!! ;) Too bad there arent' any travel nursing meeting forums! Unless I haven't looked hard enough.

FYI- American Mobile is one of the lowest paying agencies there is.

They are part of what is known as the "Evil Empire." You can do better!
