As I was bringing in supplies last week, an indoor-only cat escaped. I crawled under the porch to rescue it. My patient couldn't stop giggling at me.

Somehow my patient's basement had become home to about 10 bumblebees... A note was specifically left for me to take care of it with a can of bug killer spray. I was down there all freaked out spraying the air running around... I looked ridiculous I'm sure, luckily no one was there to see!

It's called get an exterminator or do it yourself!!!

My VERY first night three years ago with one client, the family tells me they're having trouble with mice coming in some hole under the sink. They put a snap trap there. Very nice people, all really squeamish at the idea of a mouse actually getting caught. So about three in the morning, "SNAP!!!" I look under, dead mouse. This sort of thing really doesn't bother me to dispose of, so I just grabbed a plastic shopping bag, used it as a glove inside out, grabbed the trap, bagged and tied it up, and threw it in the dumpster. The next morning the family was SO relieved that none of them had to touch it. I overheard the ct's teen sister mutter under her breath to her mom, "She's a keeper." I've been with them ever since! :D

I work with a now preschooler who has 2 siblings. Both parents work full time. When they were toddlers a babysitter (who is totally awesome) watched the siblings. Day 1 dog had GI issues all over the play/therapy room. I facilitated sibling interaction on the front porch (much to my patient's delight) and babysitter sanitized the playroom.

Later that week there is a note for us to be careful in the backyard as they think a small animal living under the deck as the dogs were going nuts. Turns out it was baby bunnies. The dog next door broke in & found it (playing not malicious) and apparently scared away mommy bunny.

I ended up getting gloves, a shoe box and an old towel to "rescue " the baby bunny. (Patient was napping and I had the monitor on my hip). Babysitter was uncomfortable picking it up. We made it a hot pack to keep it warm. Parents (serious animal lovers) were thrilled. My supervisor fell out of her chair laughing (she did a supervisory visit later that afternoon) the siblings were cheering for me saving the bunny. And told my supervisor not only did I take great care of their sibling but was a good bunny nurse too!
