This is a good topic. I'm applying to two BSN programs. Both are highly competitive. I have to admit that I think I'd rather get into the slightly less prestigious program. The most 'elite' program seems to focus so much on their PhD and DNP program that it makes me wonder if the lowly BSN students get a bit less attention. Although in the end - I'll go where ever I get that lovely acceptance letter from. But I'd rather it be from the slightly lower ranked university that seems to focus more on undergrad education. Hope that makes sense

lol thanks I don't deserve any medal at all just doing my thing. The funny thing is we are not in an isolated area, my school is about 20 minutes from me and we have about 100,000 people in our town and we have other larger towns around, but the fact that it didn't become a city until late 1980's and then at that point it just trippled in growth happened to fast. I don't think the city planners have a clue as to what the city needs short of nice new houses to attract people from the expensive areas LOL. Hopefully the whole mess will be worked out by the time I graduate so I have a brand new decent sized hospital that I can ride my bike too for work hehehehe
Wonder what are those city planners are thinking.... I hope you have a fire department :redlight:
This might just be your lucky time, you will get to work in a brand new hospital if they build one, that would be nice.

If you have the option of "choice" (i.e., live in an area like a do where there's a plethora of programs) I think you also need to consider what fits your needs and personality. I'm starting my 2nd degree BSN in January and am very happy with the school I chose -- it fits where I am at this point in life (an adult returning student, part-time, etc.). I was also excepted to one of the so-called elites but decided not to go there.
