I know that I said that I was not going to post in this thread again but thought it was funny that OP changed her user name to get the mom aspect out of it.....LOL!

OP changed her user name

How did she change her name? I don't see that as an option in the control panel.

You have to have a moderator change it for you, you can't just do it yourself. OP's original user name had something like New Mom in it.

I think the original poster needs to slow down and assess her life in general. She's posted previously that she wants to get through nursing school STAT. We've offered advice on how to get through LPN school and now its RN admissions.

We've debated LPN programmes, travel distances, technical vs. private schools, community colleges, PDA's, now its course loads.

I think Dream Nurse/new mom lpn... needs to just step back and look at what she wants. Massive course loads usually lead to burnout, stress, abysmal family relationships. She needs to decide which route educationally she is going to take. Right now all I can think of is a cat chasing her tail trying to catch a dream, but not realizing what she's chasing.

Plus, I think a proof reading course might be in order. I know we all think at a different spee than our typing abilities, but the spelling, grammar, and punctuation in her postings often leaves you wondering about literacy levels. (and I'll be the first to admit I can't spell). Charting requires you to be clear, concise, and literate.

Way too much. I am 6 months from completion of my RN. I have a Bachelor's in another area so I didn't have to take a lot of prereqs. My A&P I&II, micro and bio were outdated so I took them again in class. I had to take chem as well. One semester i took chem, a&p, computers for health students and the labs associated with the science courses. My child is a teen so no baby issues. Don't do this to yourself. You will burnout b4 nursing school. Nursing school is rough. They try to get you to give up. Dont give them the chance.

To the OP....only you know what you can handle. I don't have kids so I cant really comment on how your family life would be. I am taking about 50 credit hours myself and although Im handling it well, I am lucky enough not to have kids or really any other responsibilities...there are some girls in my class who do have children and I wonder every day how they are doing it. My program is an acc masters program that meets every day from 8-430 m-f...its accelerated so we move at a really fast pace..there is so much work...there is one girl in my program who commutes 1hr 20 mns to school each way, takes our program, drives another 1 and 20 mins back to her cc and takes chemistry and microbiologyl...plus she works part time and has three kids...I personally dont know how she does it...we are mid semester and i can tell she is hitting her burnout point...but in her case, her cc classes will be over this week and our schedule lightens so there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Will your schedule continue to be that hectic? good luck OP...
