West Central Technical College

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello all! This is my first post, and I just had a question. I'm applying to the ADN program at West Central Tech on April 1. I was just curious if anyone knows the average gpa of those that get accepted into the program? Also, I know the average NLN percentiles are in between 80-99, I was wondering if a 96 percentile would be enough to compensate for a less than perfect gpa? The more I think about it, the more nervous I become!:uhoh21: Any help would be appreciated!

I am thinking yes you should shave. What about the rest of you? I only say this because I believe I read in a Nur. 197 syllabus that men could have no facial hair or hair touching their shirt collar.

Specializes in PICU; NICU.
Got a question for you guys. My interview is on the 4th. I am a male also. With that said, do you guys think I should shave my goatee off for the interview? I did for the fire dept. because I heard that they didnt like any facial hair. I cant decide.

I'm a current WCTC RN student, and I just read our syllabus, it states "Men's faces should be clean-shaven or with trimmed beard and/or mustache". I don't think any of the men in our class right now have any facial hair, So it's up to you which way you want to go.

Updates anyone??? I'm taking A&P right now and feel like I'm going to die. I've put off applying for one year....need some more time to ace the GPA....

Congrats on your interviews. Please post how they went, what they asked, how you felt about it....and lastly.....who all are going to be future nurses!!! I'm so excited for all of you!!!!:bowingpur

I got my acceptance letter today. They kind of took the surprise away because I could see that it said "you have been selected" through the window on the envelope, lol. Im excited and I took your guy's advice on the beard and completely shaved it off before my interview. It was have worked because I got a 24.67 on the interview portion. Thanks for the advice, I owe you guys one because believe it or not, that could have cost me getting it. Thanks again.
