Spring semester

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi everyone. Tomorrow I register for my spring classes and I was wondering if I should take chemistry and a&p 2 at the same time. I was also going to take English 112 and statistics. I need eng 112, chem, and statistics to apply for the BSN program here in June. Any advice????

Wow, you guys are awesome!

I wish my old mind would work that way... HA! :geek:

Sound like you have a plan, and you will do great!

This encourages me on my own path for the future.

Best Wishes,

Thanks for the support :)

I am taking 19 units this semester with a math and Physiology as 2 of the classes. It is doable, it just is alot of work. I think if you need it to make a deadline then go for it. Thats why I decided to take so many this semester! Good luck!

It really helped me taking Chemistry before A&P. Some of the students took A&P because they couldn't take Chemistry before finishing College Algebra and they didn't do as well. Like most have said if you don't have a job, family, or life go for it.

Chem is definitely helpful before Microbiology or Physiology. If you feel you can handle 4 classes (strong in science & math), I say go for it!!!

I'm currently taking 17 credits (6 classes) this semester to get my pre-reqs done. While I'm up to my eyeballs in homework/studying, I'm glad I bit the bullet and did it all at once. I'm applying to an ASN program at our CC in January. Won't know if I'm in until April. If I get in, won't start nursing school until Fall 2013 or Spring 2014 (depending on cohort assignment). Since I have such a huge gap of time, I'm going to work on my BSN courses in between finishing pre-reqs and waiting to start nursing school. Spring 2013, I'm re-taking Chem & Stats (my credits are "too old" to transfer into the BSN program) & doing my Phlebotomy externship at the hospital (half semester before I'm certified!) After taking 6 classes...next semester will feel like a breeze! :D

I registered for my spring semester. Anatomy and Physiology 2, Chem 101. Statistics, and English 112.

Wow you guys are already registered for Spring classes. We don't even get our regestration dates until November 15th. I am planning to take A&P1, English Comp, and Chemistry with a lab.

Personally, I would leave one of those classes out...Chem is REALLY hard. And will require a lot of your time, more so than than your other classes. Maybe save it for summer so you can focus on only that class. I know how if feels to want to get everything done and over with at once, but once your classes are in full force, its going to be really hard to keep up - unless you have A LOT of time on your hands. If you have lots of time, go for it. But I would caution you to take a&p, chem, stats, and english all at once...You will be overwhelmed with studying for those first 3.

The only class that I don't need to apply for the BSN program by June is A&P 2. The other three I need. I know how to handle stress but thanks for your opinion.
